Micro Deans - is there a standard polarity?
I bought some Micro Deans to solve a Rx battery connection problem.
Is there a standard polarity? Meaning, what do others solder battery positive to? 1 or 2? I added other numbers to help describe if needed.
Thanks.

I dont use those but seems to me a good rule of thumb is never have a hot terminal flopping in the wind so #1 would be the logical positive for me. But that would mean your charger connector positive would be flopping around in the wind, though most chargers wont charge without a compleated circuit so never mind my edit I guess.

The whole point of the plugs being polarized is so you can not mix up the positive and negative. It's impossible to mix up the red and black with thepolarized plug as long as you solider them correctly. The mini deans com in unpolarized do not use the unpolarized you will mix up the red and black nd fry a battery and or receiver.

Were there instructions? It looks like you could interchange the wiring pretty easily. I use the 3 pin black deans wires for my receiver packs. I like those a little more the the 2 pin that was available at the time. The old 2 pin had only male pins on one side, and female on the other. Made it alot easier to know which side to go where.

The polarized mini-deans do have one disadvantage over the unpolarized ones. You can take two batters and plug then together in a dead short situation with the polarized connectors. Not so with the unpolarized. You can also plug your charge into the receiver connector with the polarized version if you are not paying attention.
With all that said I would never run the unpolarized version. I'm just not that much of a fan of the polarized version. Only reason I used them is because there is not another decent micro connector out there that I know of.

You make a good point Frank and the truth of the matter is I accidentally ordered 5 packs of the wrong plug, but I used them anyway, and I pay attention and haven't had any problems. they work just fine and since the wires and plugs are color coded, its really hard to plug em in wrong
