IMO 3 gallons is the optimal point to change bearings and rod. Unless the stock front bearing is leaking, in which case I would change them after break-in(around gallon 1). I would definately upgrade to ceramics. I use TKO's!

Is OS still making the OS speed AL head anymore? I only see the OS speed Vspec II in most the places.

I just bought a brand new V-spec after nearly melting my JP mod v-spec. I can say, after about 1 gallon on the new one- it's strong. The low/mid range with the os 2050 pipe is awesome. I've heard mixed reviews on the lifespan of these engines, but I agree that depending on how well you take care of it, it will last atleast 8-9 gallons. Proper tuning and temps will ensure lubrication even if the pistion is not "sealed". IMO O.S. would be shooting themselves in the foot (afa reputation goes) by making an engine that barely lasts 8 gallons.

thanks again for the input guys but i am still hanging out here between the RB ws7 again, c6, or one of the vspecs. i have to order one in the morning if i want it here and ready to race this weekend.

i might just order another ws7 but after watching the pro twister mods vspecs run last week at white house it made me want to try one.
