hobao hyper 9 or hongnor x2 buggy
Will probably get my x2 mid season. Its a no-brainer for me.

get the X2, hobao diffs are somewhat a problem because of the seal.
Another option is mugen Mbx6 since dogbone(hobbyshop) likewise sell that kit.

Overall I'd have to pick the X2.
Virtually bomb-proof design; parts available nearly everywhere; works well on a lot of various tracks and is pretty easy to drive all around.

Did Hobao Mill out the Chassis more on the H9 to accommodate all the engines, or do you still have to mill the chassis with a dremel?
I know all buggies have their problems, but Leaky diffs and having to grind out my chassis to install my engine would keep me away from the 9 for now.
I would not consider those small issues... Shame on Hobao if they have not addressed these problems yet

Xray had bearing problems, Mugen had leaky diffs and other small issues, every buggy has an issue on their first kit.
I remember reading that the first kit of H9's you had to grind the chassis a little but I believe with their newer kits they come with shims or something, and if you read the "Hyper 9 Kits in Stock" thread you will find the solution for the leaky diff, I don't see how this small issues would keep anyone away but oh well, I still want to try a H9 so bad!!

Oh ok... I'm glad we got that cleared up.
The buggy now comes with shims and yes the diffs are an easy enuff problem to fix. I used it as an excuse to tear the buggy down anyways, I like to wrench and I like the challenge of fixing factory issues, but like it was said earlier, all buggies, especially new designs, have some small bugs.. a name brand company like hobao wouldn't but a product out if it needed to be redesigned before you could run it.
The buggy is amazing, just buy it if, if you don't like it tou can resell for the same price or more, so you win either way.
