my original mount had to be modified...it was higher, and not wide enough for the grp...
i had a buddy mill it so it was the same height as the shockers, and wide enough to fit... now more recently a different friend had an orion motor that would not fit.... it is well known that the grps needed the mount massaged to fit |

The losi fly wheel s up higher. With the ofna chrome drop box I had to raise the motor/ wheel assembley with washers but the ofna truggy box and the losi box both worked without any difficulty and all my engines are on quick chants mounts. I think they are king headz but they all start no prob.

do not tighten the mounts that go on the engine all the way. Leave them a little loose and set the engine on to the bottom mounts first. Tighten the top mount to the bottom mount then tighten the top mount after this. If you tighten the top first it will not line up with the bottom. the directions say this also. I had the same problem until I read the directions. Someone else on here has had the same issue. They work.

So I tried that awhile ago and it fit. However, I think the reason it was fitting is because the ears on the motor crankcase were flexing. As soon as I took the engine off and tried to put it back on I had the same issue of the holes in the upper mount not being aligned with the pins in the lower mount.
What's the distance from outside of one pin to outside of the other pin on your mount in inches? Thanks! |
