wants a good truggy motor that wont break the bank

Personally I like many of today's engines...I think there are many good choices available..... However after owning and testing many of these engines I still come back to saying the Picco based .21's are the most powerful .21's on todays market.. I even own, modified and dynoed a Go 25 and even though it is a fantastic engine it doesn't make as much power or RPM as the Picco .21's do...Now I am not saying that because the Picco's are more powerful that they are better race engines, however if having big power is important to you then there is no better choice on todays market then a Picco .21.... Now if a person is really after having the biggest gun on the track a properly modified Picco .21 is in a league of its own...They have huge bottom end and a screaming top end you don't hear from other offroad engines....
edit: even tho the Picco's make big power they still have a few quirks, they don't have the smoothest powerband and the carbs can be leaky sometimes.. I do not consider them to be any better as a race engine then some of the others mentioned, however if big power is what you want nothing touches the Picco's

yeah i had a p3.28 in my lst2 thing rocked.was kind thinkin about that same motor.and maybe send it out to get modded.i was thinkin of goin brushless but it same the locals that have brushless is in buggies.ive never 'raced' nitro befor so i might try it this year.if a .21 will keep up with .28's i got a rossi .21 in my old xb8 i just might run instead of buyin a new one.cause i do want to go brushless sooner or later.
A modded P3 28 is way too much motor for racing....However a modded Picco 21 is a whole different story... They feel more like a revvy 28 then they do a .21, and in all the side by side drag races I have done the modded Picco 21's always beat the .28's, they have almost as much bottom and way more top end, the 28's seem to fall off pipe much earlier while the .21's just keep on pulling.... The only complaint someone would have with a modded Picco 21 is that it hits too hard in the low end, some drivers prefer a milder bottom end

I'll be running a JPX 21 with Sirio 2056 exhaust in Truggy this w/end @ MotoRama. Will post a report here next Mon or Tues. I tested it for about 1/2 tank in my back yard the other day and it seems to be impressive . Won't really know for sure 'til I get it on the track though.

I ran the 5 port in truggy last year with a 8mm restrictor and was getting 10 mins and was smoking alot of more expensive mills on the straight. Now its in my buggy I just had to tame it with a 6.5mm venturi and carbon shoes. The .25 is a beast, low end of any .28 with the rpm's of a .21 its an amazing mill. If I wasnt switching to buggy I would have got the .25 last year. I had a heavy truggy though if you are putting it in the losi you dont even need the .25 the .21 will be fine because its light just make shure you go to walmart and get a heat gun for break in and around 2-3 gals swap the rod pin and clips and call it a day.

this is a good motor ALOT of power and it wont brake your wallet get the motor and back plate for it, 13 bucks + - and you have a strong motor for around 150, give or take a few dollers and it will keep up with the vspecs and other high doller motors. after running it for a wile send it to get it pinched for 20 bucks and go burn some more fuel.
