Default What buggy? HB D8 or Losi 8v2?

Hi everybody,

I m currently learning about a new buggy for the season 2009.

I dont know what buggy i choice.

I want a good buggy, with excellent performance.

I like a car easy to drive when i push hard.

I m currently learning about the HB D8 Buggy.
This buggy is cheap and won the World 2008... so

And i learning about the Losi 8-V2 but i see this car are difficult to drive when you push hard.

May be the RC8 but a lot of guy tell me that the car are easy to break.

MBX6 is expensive and i dont know if the big price difference is for a best performance...

My motor, i dont choice for now, may be the new RB WS9 or C9.

Thanks for your help

Franco

The orignal 8 was hard to drive when you pushed it. Losi pretty much solved the problem on the 2.0.

Both are good choices. I am partial to the D8 I love it. You can't wrong with either one. I would go with the one with the best parts support at your LHS.

If you like a car that you are able to push, the D8 is it. The thing that helps out the D8 is its weight. With having a 4mm thick chassis, it keeps the needed weight at the lowest point of the car. Its a very stable car on both rough and smooth tracks. Once you find a setup that fiits your driving style, you only make minor adjustments from track to track. If you choose the D8, you will be very happy!

The setup is hard to find on the D8 ?

And is easy to break or fiability is good?

get the losi 2.0 its the best handling car on the market, i was not a fan of losi i had the first version a little while back it was way to edgy, i ran the rc8 for a while it was a good handling car, you will have to upgrade to the m2c hinge pin holders and it will be durable but there fuel tanks are garbage, i had to change over 10 tanks in the time i was racing it even the new generation tanks still fail, the money you save on the d8 will be spent replacing drive shafts, i havent seen 1 d8 make it through a whole night of racing at the local track

No, not at all. You can basically start out with either Travis's or Ty's Set-Ups from the HB Site, and make minor changes to suit your driving style.

Why is better than the D8 or other buggy?

I repeat, i like a car easy in the limit when i push hard

new D8 kits have fixed this problem, and even if they did break youre not going to spend $300 on new CVD's

d8 > 8ight2

personally the d8 is great all around buggy. I drove the losi 2.0 before i got sponsored and it was a good car, but not for me. it was hard to keep it square at high speeds.

the car just wasn't my "cup of tea".

IMO the losi 2.0 and D8 arent even in the same genra. There are so many things you have to add to the D8 to get it to the point where it is truly competitive. Just look at Hara's D8. Not much on that car was origional D8 matterial. Then look at Mike Truhe's TQ and second place car. All stock losi equipment. Of coarse he had option parts but nothing that changed the way the buggy handled. Hara had all kinds of stuff, like shock towers and longer shocks and lightened parts all over the place. Don't get me wrong the D8 is a great buggy for the price but it is NOT on par with the losi and the mugen and the xray. I would say the same thing about the assiated RC8. There is way too much stuff that needs to be done to it, including finding some other fuel tank to fit it as there stock tanks are junk, even the new version ones. It requires a truggy rear tower and big bore shocks. not worth it. Now as for the losi. I own one and love it. So yes I am going to be biased in it's direction, but I truly believe it is the best buggy on the market. I thought the 8ight 1.0 was the best and then all of a sudden they throw out the 2.0. And they made a huge improvement. All the durability issues the 1.0 had have been fixed on the 2.0. It has the tft chassis stock. With the 2mm longer chassis it is alot more stable than the 1.0 was. It is really a dream to drive. It has incredible accelleration, steering and jumping. So if it were me I would go with the losi 2.0.
