Thumbs up

Looks awesome. My Tamiya TRF 501X was by far the best car I have ever owned. I am willing to bet this car will be top of the line.

anything innovative on the 801X?

i see that it has the brakes from the truggy?
(and i'm still wondering exactly how it works with the cams and such..)

alu cylinderical thingy sticking out from the rear bulkhead.
alu diff housing?

and the engine looks tilted.
btw what engine is that?
"Tamiya" on the head but doesn't look like it's made by OS.
(OS oems engines for the nitro-powered rtr Tamiyas.)
yet thr's an OS pipe on the buggy.

the air filter looks very moogen,
and an 808 body?

designed by Mr Jun?
and with feedback from Mr Lutz..

good luck with the buggy to Tamiya and Mr Lutz!

the engine is tilted to get a more balanced car..
option mounts is available for the 801XT - so I guess they made it right with the buggy - out of the box..

I've always had a soft spot for tamiya. They introduced me (and millions of others I'd imagine) to "hobby grade" RC.

These lastest offerings would be the only Buggy and Truggy I would consider replacing my K Cars with.

I will be watching Lutz's results very closely

Cheers

I have heard April / May but there is nothing set in stone yet.

Default YouTube Vid

If you guys want to check out a pretty cool, semi-hidden youtube video follow these directions:

Go to YouTube and type in Tamiya TRF801X
Your going to want to click on the first video with my name in it but it probably won't let you click on it. So click on the "poster's" name and then the video will be there again and you should be able to click on it to watch!
Enjoy!

On the right stone guard there are some molded standoffs and what looks like some sort of retainer. Does anyone know what its intended for?
