i myself have never seen any of that happen in the new servos the older servos yes a little but like you said no big deal. I have been running the Jr servos for a good while and never had anything wrong with them.

that'ud suck.

when ace/associated released an affordable servo it was great. almost wouldv bought stock in that lol now though its not good watching them drop like flys...the jr z9100's went up in price from spring(prolly cause they see aces crashing), i could get them for $107 out the door, now $140. its all pretty rediculous.

I think horizon realized they had the hottest servos on the market and decided to raise their prices. I had purchased a set of 8717's for my heli last year for 89.99 each. I went and price checked them recently and was shocked at the new 140 sticker price.

I would stay away from the JR 9100s. I have 2 and they both developed alot of slack in the gear and they both do the "death rattle twitchy thing". One twitches more violently than the other. I'm going to send both of them back to Horizon and get them replaced then Flea-bay those turds.

The best steering servo I've ever used is the brushless Futaba BLS351. I've got over a year on it in my MBX5R and there is absolutely no slack in the gears and it has always worked flawlessly.

buddy's 9100T was had the wobble's as well.....he bought a new gear set after i told him he needed both gears and top case to properly rebuild it...so it still wobble's to this day...hasn't failed...but its only a matter of time.

and on the 9351BLS...i used a regular 9351 in truggy after Gary guest recommended it...they failed pretty quick due to the plastic gear thats supposedly notorious for going....even so they sell a 5 pack of gears for it....the brushless has the same gear...so it might work for steering in a buggy well...but truggy not so....i use it on throttle duties now....another buddy has the 451BLS in throttle and its a Very nice feeling servo imo.

Integra,
The BLS351 is metal geared, no plastic. Me and a buddy both have MBX5R's that we have totally thrashed for a year and never had a servo failure. We also have the BLS451's for throttle with no problems.

http://www.servocity.com/html/bls-35...ess_servo.html

under Gear type: Nylon with final output gear metal...so there is plastic in there.....98% of servo's do....but the 9351's are more prone to going from what ive personally seen.

Futaba's site says metal gears, no mention of nylon or plastic etc. I can't break the thing, so I haven't had reason to open it up. So I can't say first hand they're not all plastic gears, I'm just going on what Futaba's site says.
