Tested this combo out today and with badlands and it worked out great. Short cut grass. 1/2 throttle was great for both power and fuel consumption.

Feels very good. Smooth but good enough punch for jumps.
Don't know how long it'll last though. Some people say the plastic shoes wear out too fast in truggy.
This setup lasted less than 3 litres of fuel.
People were right
Composite shoes NOT recommended in truggy.

They may appear different, but the actual spacing will be the same. If you want, get out the ruler and start measuring.

Bump steering adjustment question, When you set the bump steer up or down are you making this adjustment on the steerig rack only or on the rack and steering knuckle. Hope someone can help.

Bump Steer changes the angle of the toe when the suspension compresses.

For bump steering, you only adjust the steering rack. I have seen guys run shims on the spindle to raise the steering link up. the More horizontal the link, the less bump steer.

Hope this answers your question.

Is there a rule of thumb as to whether it is better to have the toe increase, decrease or remain constant when a wheel is going up the face of a bump?

Default Setup Help

Ok guys I need a little help!! Some of you know I only joined the sport last year, and ALL year on my 1/8th stuff all I ever did was run Drake's setups all the time. Now over the winter and a TON of 2wd buggy driving, my skills have improved allot. I want to get more inline with a setup for ME.
Like I said I am at Drake's 2012 setup with 10deg spindles. I am looking to get the truck to slow speed 180 better and more consistent/better on power steering. Any help is very much appreciated!!

Try the short ackerman. I did at the beginning of the year last year and liked it so much I pretty much ran it the entire year. It helped with off power steering and steering in general was more responsive.
