I'm going to order some new diff oils, and I thought I would go with the Losi oils because i'm running an 8ight. I noticed the stuff is pretty expensive. Just wondering if the associated oils are just as good? Its half the price and double the amount of the Losi oil. Any thoughts?

I w ould say use the losi oils because when you need help on diff setups the team is basing that off losi oil. All the oils are different brand/brand. It's not a huge deal though.

At $6 it's only a few more than AE. I'm not positive but it seems like my losi tubes have more oil than AE bottles. Not 100%.

100% with Alan...also when you start using a certain oil you need to stick with it, it makes it alot easier when changing fluids. i have used Losi shock oils from the start for two reasons, they are color coded and i am familiar with the weights and how they feel, but on the diffs i have always used mugen for the same reason, i know how they feel.

Agree. The Losi oil bottle is decieving. There is a lot more in there than it looks.

I have no opinion on AE stuff yet, but I think I'm sticking with the Losi stuff just cuz that's what I've always done. But the AE stuff is cheaper, so it draws you in.

i rock Ofna diff oils for the fact you can service the diff more then twice like the losi bottles...and for a couple bucks more id much rather have the ofna over the losi....i do run losi shock oil basically for the same reason as r1harper.

the associated bottles are the biggest bang for your buck as far as i am concerned.. i have been using them since they came out with no issues

I'm using AE for cost and availability. But then I'm a n00b, so take it my $.02 what its worth.

The last one on my list is probably important if you're running a particular model and follow recommended setups of others (pro's). I imagine however that once you fully understand how to setup your car (specifically the diffs) you can use whatever brand you like and stick w/ it.

Be careful with the OFNA oils. They are measured in weight instead of CTS.

Theoretically all oils should be the same if they are measured in CTS, they probably are not but they should be. I cant tell the difference between Mugen and Kyosho diff fluids or shock oils. Around here Mugen is usually the best value.

The Losi stuff is really overpriced compared to other brands.

If your looking to buy oils, buy fluid made by racers for racers.....fusion!
Below is pics of the bottle size compared to std size. We all know those big bores love some fluid! These are 4.5oz bottle and std is about 2 oz i believe. There also available in 1.5 oz size if thats what you like better! Each bottle has the wt and the cts rating on the label.

If the stand alone tubes of losi oils are the same size as the ones you get in the 8ight kit then the associated bottles have allot more oil in them.
