Has anyone tryed to put springs on the brake rods, one soft and one stiff. The soft one on the front brake and the stiff on one the rear so that if you tap the brakes the rear locks first an if you hit them hard they both hit.

Have you tried buggy wheels/tires?
I run Bow-Fighters and it makes the car a lot funner to drive. It still retains that same feel of sliding and pushing like the real trucks, but just not so crazy annoying like the stock tires. Not sure if they're going to allow these tires though if this ever becomes a legit class.
I blew up my AE .28 and put in a 7 port .21 Collari and it's just as powerful.
I also run Ofna Big Bores once I got my free-giveaways from AE. The Ofna BB's just make it a lot more consistant through the stroke.
I also plan on putting KingHeadz ABCD Hinge Pin plates after bending my B and C on 2 different occasions (this goes for the RC8 & RC8T as well). It's obviously a weak point.
These are my upgrades that I have done, and the car is pretty legit now. Just thought I'de share.

I ran the buggy tires for a wile but I still love the look of the stock tires and have learned to drive with them even on a dry track. I think if there is a class they should make everyone run the stock like tires. Hopefully pro-line on some one will come up with more tires that are like BFG mud terrains and Yokohama's like the real trucks run.

Curious how temps are with a real race spec engine? Did you have to hack up the back of the body for air flow?
I'm thinking about fast forwarding past the RTR engine and going straight to an OS or Italian engine, but am concerned about heat and I would prefer to not have to cut on this beatiful body!

The only reason I say springs is because you could make it more progressive, I have tryed all types of fuel hose and there all pretty much stiff. Does anyone know what the stock shock oil's are? and I wonder what the 2 deg toe in would do instead of the 3 deg in the rear, has anyone tryed this.

Does anyone ever answer the post. I just went through my motor on my SC8 and it all looked fine. I was wandering if the people that had motor failures were over reving the motor because I live at 5800 feet of altitude and one of the things I did was put a 17 tooth on my truck and I flat out run the other sc8's. I want to try an 18 tooth.

I wonder the same thing? I've been looking for some boards that have
talk about the SC8, but so far I havent found any that are real active. I'll take it because the truck is so new. This truck is a blast to drive. I went to the races last night and had to laugh, I met a guy who works your traxxas, and he has a SC8 and races it. Cool dude. Ive been trying to find some more people who have them in my area, well thats one more, now I know of three lolol. Its a lot of money buts its a blast to drive.

The most fun driving an RC car I have ever had. I watch the weather every day
just to see when the next 50 degree day is so I can go to the track and run my SC8. P.S. there are 5 SC8's that I know of in my area and they are friend's and family.

I never saw a reply from the guys that blew up there AE28's in there SC8's. I am half way through my second gallon and I went through my motor and everything looks fine. The only thing I have had too change is the clutch shoes and I went to an 17 tooth pinion because the engine seemed to flatten out in the long straits at the track I have been running at and it seems a lot better and still pulls hard on the bottom end.

Rickm,
I've not seen really any issues with the Pro28. It's a pretty solid motor overall, most people who are blowing them up probably aren't treating them right.
Have you made any other changes to the truck to make it handle better? What kind of surface are you running on?

I've had my SC8 a month now at least, I only ran the original motor in
befor i changed it for my old animal Sirio BK EVO2 Kanai!! Holy snappin duck shit did this thing haul ASS, It drifts on Bitumen like it does on dirt
,Put a little moisture on those tyres and have some fun tryin to hold it straight on take off!! I ended up putting a OS VG30 in it with an 18 tooth pinion it's actually quite controllable, specialy cornering and drift! as for temps most my motors have sat on about the 140's degree mark!! +++1 for fun!!
