Well I like mine but I have to send it in. I have one of the early production models and it will not hold multiple models. I keep having to rebind my second kit.
There site shows the recall #'s on there site so its a good idea to look at the battery compartment first and see if the #'s match. Unless you buy from the web then its pot luck.
Other than that its awesome.

I like mine a lot. The battery life is excellent, and the thing is LIGHT.

And yes the Upgrade skin looks cool

Havent had the inclination to try rechargables yet.Alkalines are lasting 5 hr of on time. That may not sound like much at first but ends up being 5-6 race days plus chassis tune time at home & I still havent heard my low volt beeper thats set at 4.8v(Ichange batts at 5.0v).If you got kids like me you got big packs of AA at home to keep the leapster & crap going. One of those $15 mega packs will keep you going for over a year.

I changed out my first set of alkalines today. I ran it down to 4.2 volts which got me 14 hours of usage.

Mine doesn't beep until 3.5v and I have ran for six months without changing batteries. That's racing 1-2 times a month and general tuning. I absolutely love. I even gave it a woman's name....Christine....

I have both and I have to say it so close, the sensor has some really nice features if you run nitro. Nomadio makes stuff for the military so the r/c part they do is kinda a back burner if you know what I mean. The DX3R is an awesome radio hands down. If I were to chose i think I would go with the DX3R because you will have support right away. If you have a problem with the Sensor, i'm not sure . Never had problems but as i mentioned they do stuff for the miltary so it could be awhile before you would get it back but i could be wrong.
