I picked up an xray filter housing and 10 rb foams. I also ordered a dry filterwear off ebay to dry in dusty situations in place of the vetwrap I had been using. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I ran a 40 minute A main last weekend and my filter is still clean...

Man those ebay cover things work good! They have a special running right now on the yellow Xray, RB, Mugen size one for $5.99 or something like that. They are cheap work well and I can run this filter for a whole practice session saving some cash.

i do not like the low pro filter from proline i like the losi setup i run it on my rc8

Here are the pics of the filter, I finally got them off the camera. Actually this filter has 3 10 minute quals, and a 40 minute A-main on it. This Losi filter combo'd with the ebay filter covers really do work well. The good thing is, they are so cheap its defiantly worth a try... you will be hooked once you run them and your filter is still good for two more practices..! Yellow ones are the best in my opinion, so you can see the dirt, but they have em in many colors if your like that.

I personally run power save filters with PJ1 (dirt bike) oil and koban over the whole thing.

Work great and when the koban gets dirty I throw it away and re-wrap it. I have been using the same filter now for 3 weekends. I do not oil the outer foam just the inner foam, after each weekend I toss the wrap and wash off the outer foam, the inner foam is nice and clean... Still!

LOL... ya I should clean that thing! I heard that PJ1 oil is good, and also much cheaper! So if you use PJ1 and the ebay covers, you should save huge cash when you ad up a years worth of filter changes.

Without the Ebay cover:
If you run 6 times per month without the ebay covers.. that would be ($3.00 x 6 changes = $18.00.) ($18.00 x 12 months = $216.00) per year in filters.

With the ebay cover:
If you run 6 times per month with the ebay covers that make the filters last 3 times longer.. that would be ($3.00 x 2 changes = $6.00). ($6.00 x 12 months = $72.00) per year in filters.

You decide... $72.00... or $216.00! If you practice and race every week your lucky, but probably broke too..!!

+1 on the losi air filter. I used it on my kyosho, and now my xray 808. keeps it low, and doesn't even touch the side of the body. I also use coflex wrap around it and dirt barely gets in!

I run a two stage Jammin/OFNA Filter on my truggy and I like it alot. Oiling your air filter is a must! I don't care how many stage it is or how big it is. You must oil it because if you don't the dirt will go right thru it, the oil is used to have the dust stick to it.

I went to an Outlaw Latemodel Race a couple weeks ago (1:1 cars) and they all had outerwears pre filters on. I thought outerwears made filters just for RC but i guess not.

How do you guys determine whether an air filter is good or otherwise?

I don't mind changing my filters after every main, but what I don't want for sure is that it restricts the airflow more than usual...

Don't worry too much about restriction. The surface area of the filter is many many times the size of the carb restricter. As long as your filter doesn't cake with oil & dirt on the outside layer completely blocking all flow, you will be fine. Thats why I use these thin dry outer filter covers to stop any possible caking. Ive heard some people say they could restrict flow..... Buzzzz.. wrong answer! They actually increase flow over time by stopping the dirt from caking on the outer oiled pre-filter.
