Default My apologies

I meant clutch bell breakages...

It may be the percieved as the best car maybe so but for the price and the literal decades of development it has had one could expect a bit more...

But please drilling holes in the chassis of a 900 dollar car to stop breakages of the clutch bell? C'mon guys... That is inexcuseable...you don't even have to do that on the malaisian or Taiwanese clones...

hello I want to ask a question
I'm tired of breaking the MP9 Shock Boot Set
Is there any brand of Shock Boot Set compatible with the shock absorbers of MP9?
I hope you understand my question. I'm sorry for my bad English.
greetings and thanks

I used the long balloons they use to make balloon animals.
Cut one just long enough and put a drop of oil inside to make it easy to slide up.
The are silent and smoother than the accordion style boots that come with kyosho and make changing springs easier. Also last longer and look cleaner..id like to find some black ones though

As well...again it is a bit unsettling that the new car still has these issues...sure it will break in smooth but I have not had these issues with other brands (which all have an issue here and there...)

Built 36 - and counting 1/8 buggies so please don't say it's me ...
The Gunmetal shock bodies only come in the TKI3 kit and the brown gunmetal anodizing is horrible on those bodies which wears off in only 1-2 tanks allowing the aluminum to start pitting. The "good" gray anodized bodies are what you want and are only sold as the replacements from Kyosho.

As for the diffs.. They will be "notchy" when new. Just be patient and run a few tanks of fuel through the buggy. After that they will be silky smooth for a long, long time!

You'll need to use the non-accordian style shock boots, which are the same ones Tebo uses on his TKI3. They are from the older 777 buggy. I use them on both my MP9 and RR Evo. I will say they are much more durable/thicker rubber and less prone to rip open. Also IMO the 777 boots collapse much more in unison than the accordian style boots do. Not to mention they fit around the lower coil spring retainer much better too.

Default shock body ANO.

Hate to burst anyones bubble but the replacement shock bodies wear just as bad !!! I have been running them for months now and at first they seem dialed,,,, but then they start to dirty up the oils way to quick. This is only possible from the ano. or the allum. wearing off and ending up in the oil.

That being said,,,, there is nothinglike the feel of a brand new pair of Kyosho shocks !!!!!

i have velvets on the rear of my electric mp9 and they are the only shocks on both of my k cars that keep the oil clean for an extended length of time..that being said, i dont notice a difference in performance in the threaded bodies compared to the velvets.

If you are worried that much about the price of what your getting maybe the Kyosho is not for you. You should go buy the other brand and just be happy with what you get.

Ever since the MP9 was first released I have always put a 13 x 16 shim on the ring gear side of the diff and also I put a 5 x 8 x .2mm shim behind the pinion gear. The diff may feel a bit notchy but after it is fitted to the chassis it is perfect with only a slight hint of gear bind which dissappears after the first run.

I disagree with you, but to each his own. I've had a much better long term experience with the gray anodized bodies over the brown gunmetal anodizing. Inside and out. ( I ONLY WISH KYOSHO MADE THE THREADED SHOCK BODIES IN THE VELVET COATING )

Totally agree with you there Scott, the replacement bodies are almost as bad as the originals.
