Only difference was slightly heavier shock oils as we had some ridiculous flat landings and 3* rear roll center.

PTRC Diff oil. 5/5/2 - Losi shock oil 50/37.5 (same symptoms at 40/30).

Rear tower: Nitro car is in 9/3, e-buggy is 8/3.

Would post pictures, but I'm at work.
How tight is your servo saver?

New to this thread but an old time eightth scale racer. Are the mp-9 E mud guards for the sides more narrow than they are on the 777 and will they fit the 777 with the electric conversion ?

Tebo has new stuff going on on that set up. Did you note the swaybars he is using- 2.4mm front w/ 1mm exposed and 2.5 rear with 3mm exposed? Also the front shock is on the outter hole of the tower?

I have not used 1.5x5 in the MP9, but from when I used to run the MP9 I can tell you it's sensative to small changes, which is why I mention the sway bars. Push and then snap oversteer sounds like the front end collapes on while slowing for the corner and then lifting the inside rear tire off the ground causing the snap oversteer. Anyway, I think your problem lies in 4 places- 1) same sway bars set up the same way, 2) you have to use the same Kyosho diff oil Tebo does [if PT 5k is like kyo 7k the front diff won't want to let the car turn and then the center will over power everything when you get on the gas. I never used PT oil so I don't know, just saying it's possible], 3) you may have overlooked wheel base setting 4) shock oil needs to be adjusted for temp only until you sort out the handling issue, then experiment for landing 5) This car wants to run heavy KO servos or equivelently heavy servos [don't discount this] 6) The "normal" rear hex hubs are not the kit "narrow" hubs.

Please make sure you are using the short front upper link. The long one will for sure cause plowing.

In my experience the MP9 does have a tendancy to push if overdriven. Drive it at just the right speed and it'll make the corners quickly. Grab too much throttle and it'll keep going straight... so to speak.

If you want to drive it a little harder and have it still hook up, raise the front upper arm on the tower.

Tebo's wheelbase setting is a little aggressive. 2f/3r is going to give the car a lot of rotation on power. You may want to try 3f/2r. I never liked 4f/1r.

Like I said, I haven't tried the 1.5's in my MP9 and I don't want to say, "oh, try this other totally different set up sheet with 1.3x8's", but what I wrote above is what I think will matter based on when I ran the car with the 1.3x8's. Please keeps us updated. I curious what comes of it.

Just built my MP9 and found that one of the diffs isn't smooth. It seems the diffs internals are tight. The other 2 diffs are much smoother. Anything to worry about before I run it or will it break in?

Do you have to set screw too tight on the diff case? If so it will rub on the gears. Is it overfilled?

Any idea if losi or moog3n 16mm shock pistons will fit in these shocks?

I am sure you have screwed the setscrew in just a bit to much. I did the same thing and been doing this for 25 years... LOL

Apparently I deformed one of the washers behind one of the spider gears. It was causing the extra resistance in the diff. After running a pack through it it was butter smooth..... I'm rebuilding the diffs and the oil stinks like arse! The oils are black and smell cooked. I put Tebos ROAR setup on it and it's amazing, best handling 1/8 I've ever driven, the suspension is unbelievable.....

Nope, sorry. But I'm just curious as to why you would want to use either of those brands (or any other brand of non-alloy or "non-fancy" pistons)? What's wrong with the K shock pistons - what benefit do the Losi and/or Mugen pistons provide?

yep, the mp9 is special!

a few pages back someone mentioned the alloy in the diff gears has a percentage of graphite, and as the gears wear the graphite ends up self lubricating. im not sure if this is the case or not, but it does make sense as the oil is always black after a race day, and the gears last a long time. im still on the same gears on a heavy use ebuggy after a year or so.

the k pistons do fit the best, but he may already have a stack of off brand pistons.
