Anything can be (or made) competitive, the problem with the H8.5 was weight, everything was over sized. It was the most advanced design in it's day, remains actual.

About the shocks I disagree a little, the shocks are the same in every way except in shaft volume to shock body volume and now you can run way more than two holes in the pistons but people still haven't nailed a good setup well some cars have a very good shock setup out of the box but people ruin it asap...

Looks very good Lest, it's that a Crowd Pleazer or the Hyper 8 body?

Would be cool to see Tessmann, Maifield and co. run Hyper 8.5's or similar, but with their normal engines, electronics, etc.., against a second or third tier level of pros (or even just club guys..) running all the modern stuff..

What would be more competitive - a modern car with old engine and electronics, or an old chassis with modern guts? Say you're talking stuff that's 10 years old.

Off topic but old doesn't mean outdated. Like I said i'm getting one and see how much bad it is against new cars.
By that train of thought the 8ight is outdated because it's a design from 2006...

Please do it. Cause I have always been 1 to argue that buggies have not made a big leap forward and I think the difference is prob .3 a lap maybe.
