Lance, I have the same problem. I used a few thin shims behind the pinion gear inside the diff. This took out some of the slop, but not all of it. I have about 4 gallons on my car and have not broke anything in that area yet because of it. But it is still a concern I have. I am sure OCM will get it taken care of. Adam

For whatever reason the vid is taking forever to load, but I do have to say I love your S/O's commentary , "The Great Man".....

You make me laugh, starting and running your buggy on the hood of your truck!!!!!!! Or maybe that's your neighbor's truck

i think that as long as the kit has the updated parts you should be good to go on durability ...and i agree with all you said about the rtr version ......alan can help you determine if its updated or not and im sure he will work with you on the care package .........give him a minute to get done at futaba and im sure he will be glad to help you out ....or just pm him .....later

Default first weekend with the new ocm

had the 1st weekend with the new ocm, the car is awesome, very forgiving and very quick. durability seems to be good as nothing broke, we had 3 of them running and will have the 4th one next weekend. alan is great at support and so far we are very happy with the buggies. i think we will be a lot faster with the new buggies but it is hard to compare because they just did a track change and this was our 1st outing on the new layout with the buggies. again, thanks alan for the support and the quick responses, i will post our progress as we go.

any new from the futaba nitro challenge yet?

I can tell you guys this, Alan had that truggy dialed in. The buggy looked good also, Joor OCM buggy was crazy fast, he just had some minor issues. If not for that I think he could have easily made the A-main.

PS. The OCM guys like to party Some of the coolest guys I have meet at the track.

OCM Inside Tip.... Burton prays over his truggy before he runs it.

Default OCM @ Futaba 2007 Challange

Well finally got home and rested up. It was a great weekend all around. Alan ran the wheels off the truggy on Friday. He ran his heart out in that bmain. It was an honor to pit for him and a blast to watch. I wish he didnt have such stupid bad luck in quals. The only good thing about his problems were that they werent the cars fault. The truggy looks great and is a going to be a great addition to that class. I wish i would of run better. I started 2nd in the C and finished 4th. The car ran great i just wish the driver drove better. The new car is awsome. It handles the rough stuff really good and doesnt get upset easily. The new drive train is much faster then the old. Fellow teammates tony, mark, and david all did great jobs and had many people come over and look at the cars and the truggy. Hoping to see more of them the different tracks in near future.

Matt

Hey guys, I have a couple things to get rid of....

Novarossi Black Od head, one race no scratches, jp-3 pipe one race no dents or scratches and is very clean, I gallon sidewinder fuel, 8 quarts od fuel, 2 21-5 novarossi engines. One has new ceramics and piston sleeve is good. Case has a very small crack on bottom, other one has good everything except maybe bearings...

Alans truggy was on rails all weekend, he turned solid A main laps
over and over again, really consistent. His Nova motor decided to give
us fits through the last couple qualifiers that had us scratching our
heads for a minute...then we found a crack in the bottom of the
case..ugh. so we strapped in a vspec loaner, it took him a few laps to
get used to the motor but quickly jumped into 2nd and cruised, someone
had a losi with a tire coming off the rim and was all over the track,
alan bumped him and they called alan in for a stop and go!?!?!?! not
sure the reasoning behind that...whatever. He would have been dead
solid in the A and probably finished very high considering how
consistent the truck was.
David Joor had great runs all weekend, we were testing all kinds of
setups back and forth between the std car and the EVO. We settled down
pretty close to where we have been running them lately, the biggest
change was going to 2/4/1 diffs....other than that we ran our std
setups. He had a set screw loosen up in the main on his center
driveshaft, something we think after the race was just a bad setscrew,
either it wasnt biting hard enough on the shaft or the threads wouldnt
hold the torque, strange either way though.
With the pace all of us had in qualifying the only thing to keep us
from all podiums would have been a run of bad luck, and thats what
happened. The racing was real competitive (when saxtons in the C main,
you know its gonna be a tough race to make the A) but I think we
learned alot about the truggy and the new EVO buggy, that can do
nothing but make our product and racers stronger in the future.

Here's what I came up with for a starting point on EVO's

Everything the same but:
OCM purple springs
diffs: 2/4/1
let the rear droop go 1/2 turn from full
run the rear link on the inside bottom hole on the tower
run the front upper arms all the way back
13/46 bell/spur
middle holes in the towers
inside on the rear arms
outside on the front arms
wheelbase middle

The car is real nuetral on power and has alot of off power steering,
be sure to check your diffs every hour or two of running, when you run
the thinner diff oils they tend to break down quicker. I had a top ten
finish in the first round and had top 5 paces the other three, just
couldnt get away from bad luck last laps in qualifying. Checked out in
the C main by over a straight away lead on saxton when my tires
started to un-glue. A Black cloud was over us all week long...note to
self: bring lots of rabbits feet next time! haha
The good thing was the car was solid, not a single issue with that, a
combination of radio issues really had us boggled.
