how do you make those 3 springs that hold down the clutch shoes fit into the outside fitting? no matter what i do, it's impossible.

Dude, he makes it look easy with that tool. Problem is, I don't have that tool. Any other suggestions?

use a flathead screwdriver. instead of having the tool to get the spring on, with just a little bit of effort and practice a flathead is just as easy.
