Hi All,

I just purchased a 2nd hand XT8, with two active diffs and a bunch of spares. I need to know the following:

1. Shocks, raced the Truggy one race meet and shocks tend to collapse, is it me or is there a factory fault with the shocks?

2. What diff oils are folks using in the active diff?

3. Foward battery mount, who manufactures them, could someone please paste a link?

4. I have browsed the Xray site and found a few set ups, what is a good starting set up?

Thanks for all you help, kindly appreciated.

1. I never had a problem with the shocks so I doubt they came faulty from the factory. I recommend taking them apart, cleaning them and replacing the O-Rings. They probably just need freshened up, especially if they have been sitting for an extended period of time.

2. I haven't tried the active diffs before but in the stock diffs I run 10K-15K-4K. I never change it, just put in new oil every once in a while.

3. Apparently there is a way to take the battery box from the 808e and mount it up front. I haven't tried it but I thought about experimenting with it. If you really want a forward battery position a few zip ties and electric tape will hold it. I've seen a couple people do that before...

4. If you search the Xray website for my truck set-up I think you will really like it. I am usually running on high-bite tracks though (clay, hard packed, blue groove, ect.)

Hope this helps!

Got a quick one for you all. I have an RCmonster converted pre 2009 spec Xray XT8. I just upgraded to the 2009 spec big bore shocks and i was wondering if i can replace the shock towers as well.
Just the towers, will they attach to everything else or was there some other changes for the 2009 spec truck as well regarding the towers.

Default 34MM QUICKCHANGE VARIABLE WEIGHT FLYWHEEL KIT FROM M2C RACING

M2C IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF OUR 34MM ALUMINUM
VARIABLE WEIGHT QUICKCHANGE FLWHEEL KIT without having to buy the tools.
A lot of guys have ask me to release a flywheel kit without the tools since you only need 1 spring wrench and 1 mock crank tool so here you go.
The kit will come with medium shoes and the usual set of springs, flywheel
and clutch nut package.

got some big bore shocks off a 808 arrive today and already fitted.

looks awesome with no clearance issues at all.. which i expected an issue.

i have noticed that the rear shocks are shorter than the XB8 shocks.. any tips on how to lengthen them?
will the 808 shock towers fit onto the xb8 and fix this problem?

The 808 rear tower will fix the problem. You'll have to drill some holes for the screws that go into the rear chassis brace, but everything else lines up perfectly.
