Oh my god that looks just like an amusement park for our hobby guys? Where are the beer cart girls?
I want to meet the guys wife that lets him build that in the backyard... My wife whines about a measly 70ftx130ft track because it looks "white trashy"
Piss on er I'm making it bigger when she goes to work... That'll show her who's the boss around here...

The all aluminum hasn't been that bad actually. I may notice a difference once I get some plastic ones back on there.

Trebor, Youll have to shoot down for a 3-day weekend! This will solely be a training/practice track. It won't be open to the public, Just a few great bud's for camping and R/C. Man, track piping is expensive!!!
CWALTERS, I lucked out! Iv'e got a wife that loves R/C! She also pits for me when she goes to the races. You know what she has a thing for? Novarossi motor's(loves the color purple.) & the Losi 8t!(loves truggies.) Truly 1 in a million.
Tex1, im definatly going to get your input, I belive im going to use 180x200 of it for track and the rest for a shipping /storage container for drivers stand. id like to have a track that teaches me good lines and safe passing...So ill drive better. Iv'e got to get back to some on road for practice. Did i mention piping is expensive??

Freefallmarine, the best way to build the track for practicing I've found is to compile a layout of technical sections that you have problems with at the normal race tracks. Off cambers are uncommon but difficult, rythm double and timing woops make for the best practice but suck when you have to marshal your own car all of the time. I've seen sections of concrete pavers and even a sheet of teflon plastic in a corner or two to change up the surface.
Your wife sounds great, I'm almost jealous. Mine won't pit for me because she says if something happens at a big race I will talk about it for the rest of my life so she refuses...
And on the tile thing, I thing is has gone up about $20 a 100ft since last year, I've heard that from more than one person now...

Carl,
I would actually like to volunteer for a weekend or whatever to help build it. It wouldnt be right to use it without helping out. So definitely count me in and I will definitely take some vacation time to help. But try to get a time frame so I can prepare and let work know.Ro b
