I am about to purchase one, jsut still undecided on which to purchase. I have been leaning towards the HPI Savage, just because of all of the mods for it. The Revo is cool, as well as the T-Maxx. The Associated Monster GT also seems cool, alot of power, lower stance, good look to it. Tamiya TNX is another one I have got to play with and that had alot of power as well. So what do you guys think?? Dont flame my thread either, just looking for honest anwsers about my next purchase.

You can't go wrong with any of these. My best opinion would be to consider what you're LHS carries. When things break, it'll be easiest to get replacements from them and be running again that day, rather than wait 5-10 days for an online order. Other than that, pick the one that looks best to you.

my LHS really has just about an everlasting supply of parts for the T-Maxx, E-Maxx, Savage, and I think that is about it. But the owner said he can order anything I need and have it there with 2-3 days, so I am really not worried about breaking parts. Just looking for a good well-rounded truck thatcan take some abuse.

yup...check your LHS and see what spares they carry.
if you are just starting up, best that you either settle for Savage or TNX.
Revo is a nice truck...but, it is abit more sophisticated than these 2.
no close encounter with GT...so can't comment much.
cheers!

ALOT of people go fast with the Revo on the track...if you are looking for a drag race the LST will eat it for lunch...I had a maxxed out Revo and never ever ever ever could get used to driving it, it was just way too twitchy for me. I was MUCH faster with my .28 MGT. I now also have an LST and from everything Ive seen so far it will be my fastest production MT. I've also got a savage and you have to try hard to break them and parts are everywhere for them. I bought a ton of spare stuff when I got mine and havent used any of it lol.
Just my opinion, ranked by durability. #1 being most durable
1) Savage
2) MGT
3) LST
4) REVO
5) TNX
yes, I left the T-Maxx off the list...its not the 90's anymore

No the revo is not one of the best out to date, check out the lst2. The revo is made for racing only, its not a basher and traxxas stuff breaks too much, i have a savage but i dont race much but i plan too so a bigger motor is in the near future before the season starts.

what makes a truck good is the driver.
hence, you must 1st know what you want and evaluate your capabilities (e.g can you handle fast truck?, experience in tuning nitro engine?, your budget?, parts availability at your LHS?...etc) before buying one. if you don't do this, you will end up hating this hobby...trust me!
i remember reading one thread where one chap smash his Revo so badly because he cannot get it tuned properly. well, for this guy, he probably damn rich to smash such a truck and get away without feeling a pitch.
so conclusion, it is the driver (or owner) who will make a truck best...not the truck itself...
so, do you homework wisely.for me, i am proud to say that TNX and MT2 are the best truck around..

this is because, they don't give me problem. more play time than repair time. parts are readily available in LHS....

the savage can be a fast truck on the track.......like faster then a revo especially with a good driver (yes it can) it depends if you wanna put your money into it or not. the savage in stock form is an awesome basher. as for revo's doing wheelies.......the suspension seems a little soft but ive never seen anyone try. and im pretty sure the lst2 is out by now. IMO you should take the new Savage X for a spin. should be same price (or cheaper) then the rest of the trucks you mentioned except for the maxx and tnx. alot of nice revisions to the truck to make things easier and tougher. for bashing no question about it the savage is the best, you can hit a tree at full throttle and have a 70% chance of nothing happeneing whereas any other truck is already planning its funeral. savages are extra fun in demo derby's

Yo apollo! (ive always wanted to be Rocky lol)
How much do you want to spend? The savage is as durable and good for backyard bashing as you will EVER need...EVER! If you ever plan on racing it though you will get your butt handed to you unless the revo drivers are inept. And remember, revos are like buttholes, everyone has one! Honestly, if your looking basher only...just get a used Savage off ebay and save the cash. If you think you want to race someday and have a track to race at get the LST or MGT. Ive got a pimped MGT and its a sweet truck, but my LST is sooo much flatter in the corners and accelerates like a missle. I have beaten many Revos with my Savage but not real racers, just bashers that go to a track on a saturday. bottom line, buy something and have fun! You will break something on all of them and all of them require work...
