So since I have to wait till next Wednesday for UPS to deliver mine I have a question...
I have some 4s batteries but also want to run this beast on 6s sometimes. I was going to get a couple of the SMC 3s soft case since I have had good luck with their other packs. It seems that they will be 4mm or so too long according to the specs.
What are you guys running for 6s packs?
Thanks

Does anyone know if you can run the Outcast on a single 3S pack? Or is 4S the smallest single pack?

With some ESC programming and a gearing change i don't see why you couldn't. Not sure why you would want to other than you don't have 4S or 6S packs. If you have 4S and there is a thought of it is too fast, then depending on your radio just turn down the throttle a little bit till you get used to it.

By contrast my unit geared up is insane..my Nitro's will run 50 MPH and the 6S Kraton smashes them badly on the top end, hell at a 45 MPH roll the Kraton will pick the front end up so violently that it will slam itself on the body so hard that it bounces back onto its tires.. Gearing makes a big difference and a 6S system is capable of 60 MPH like nothing, your rig is either not set to full power, your batteries are bad or your just undergeared and not loading the motor....
I kid you not, my 6S rig is soo crazy I can't hold it on top end, it just flips over on itself pretty much at any speed... It wasn't till I geared it up did I really start seeing the power of the system, on stock gearing it wasn't being loaded... I even ran mine on small race tires with stock gearing and it was terrible, lacked power, wouldn't wheely and had no top end...However once I geared it up the power felt like it tripled...wheelies violently, wicked acceleration and at least a 60 MPH top end..The electric motor accelerates at a fixed rate and the gearing amplifies the performance, if you gear too high the system gets hot, you gear too low and the system isn't loaded enough to make power....
