Yes, I was looking at this engine as well, and wondering if it's reliable and easy to tune.

Cool

Me too. I'm stuck between an OS .30 or a Collari .32, so comments in this thread could swing the balance one way or another. My £180 is in your hands!

I own both..

I prefer the Collari but you must figure in the cost of their pipe and header. The Collari has a smaller size exhaust port and you will have problems if you try and use a regular exhaust header. It will develop leaks and cause it to be hard to tune and start. I like the Collari because it has buckets of lowend torque.

The OS .30 does not have much lowend. It will not make my either of my LST's wheelie. It has more bark than bite.

I have both the Collari 32 and OS 30VG for my Savage. Both of them has lots of power, my OS has just as much low end torqe as my Collari. I like both of them. I had to send my Collari back to the factory because the space betwen the piston and the backplate was to smal, destroyed the piston. But Werks has great customer support, so they are fixing it for free. No problems with my OS, easy to tune and idles like a dream all day long.

I have posted this link before but it shows the low end torq of the OS in a heavy Savage with lots of option parts:

The 3 speed shifts directly from 1 to 3 gear on this vid.

I wish mine ran like yours. The engine was dyno'd and reviewed my Xtreme RC and the article shows 39 in/oz of torque which is less than a RB TM323. In the article it actually mentions the lowend response and mentions that once under way it is fine. The only time I've been able to get it to have good power is running it a 290 and I don't want to do that. I'm running a R5 and Rocket Science 30%. I wish mine ran like yours!!! What fuel and plug and temps are you running. I'm calling OS tomorrow about mine.

Some other engine dyno results tested with the same equipment and methodology

I'm sure the dynamite .28 is a good engine but I've heard good things about the STS .28 http://www.projectzen.net/page5.html and it has some good numbers on the Xtreme R/C dyno.

I use Byron 25% nitro, 16% oil and OS8 plug. The temp stays around 120C.
I use the hpi polished tuned pipe and stock manifold for nitro star 25 engine.

I have notised that my engine likes a rich setting. I have the HSN at almost 3t out (factory setting is 2 and 3/4t), LSN about 2t inn from flush. If i turn the HSN in to 2,5t it still does not bog at full trotle, but the temp gets higher and it has less power.

Richen the LSN and you should be able to lean the HSN more without overheating....

This morning I talked to OS support and at first they said adjust the midrange adjustment to move the spraybar closer to the lowspeed needle at WOT. I explained that their engine does not have a midrange adjustment so bascially I would need to use the lowspeed needle. He said do it. I did and I'm only going to be 1/2 turn out on the lowspeed. I will test later...........

They were sugesting the lowspeed needle should be 1.5mm from the spraybar at WOT.

CKMaxx: How much fuel do you have through your OS .30??

I don't even have one yet, LOL. The advice I was giving applys to all engines, generally.

Just blasted a tank in the back yard and there was a big improvement!! My guess is that some of these first batch engines have short lowspeed needles (out of spec in someway) If anyone has one and wants to post a picture of their lowspeed needle next to a ruler I will pull mine also, otherwise I'm not touching nuttin!!

Video: Before adjustment, no torque
