Default New emaxx brushless gearing

Hey I have a brand new e maxx and I've added some upgrades such as traxxas steel center driveshaft, mip cvd steel rear driveshafts rpm a arms front and rear as well as bulkheads and big bore shocks. I took it out for a spin on tough terrain and I spun the spur gear the center of the gear broke from the rest of the gear. Should I invest in a steel spur gear or change my gearing. I'm running on two 3s 25c 5000 lipos and it's fast but I can't believe I spun the spur gear within 3 minutes. Any help will be awesome ty

The only way to know for sure if you need to change gearing is motor/esc/battery temps. The only way these can be accurately measured is with a IR Temp Gun. SO without knowing what your temps are, there is no way(unless your motor is scalding hot to the touch)to suggest a gear change. As for your spur gear, did it melt then break or just out right break? BTW, running 6s on a stock Maxx, be fore warned, you will have more carnage no doubt. Get ready to do diffs soon, you'll need the 1/8 diff conversion.

It's just broke. You can see it just spun off the middle. Should I look into a steel gear or I'm looking at bigger problems then? Because honestly I have no idea how to do a 1/8 diff conversion

Just get another plastic gear. And see what happens. It should have came with another spur in the parts bag. It will have a lower tooth count so beware of overheating. Have run those plastic spurs a long time without many problems. You Could have just gotten a bad one. Before you run it again be sure to check for any binding in the drive train.
