The folks at RCM and the USPS were very good to me today. Began the build on the newest member of my R/C family and it ain't built by Traxxas. Matter of fact plan on not using one Traxxas brand part in this build.
Starting out with the FLM extended chassis along with their bulks and towers. Also have installed the HR adjustable aluminum bellcrank and steering assembly. Oh and that plastic fantastic front skid will not be part of the final build, just doing mock up.
Now on to the drivetrain, suspension and electronics.

Yes they are and had thought about it. With the standard FLM bulks there are more gearing options, easier setup, faster swaps when needed. When the strobe braces get installed the standard bulks are very close to the strength of the hybrid. The UE Ultralite diffs I picked up use the Ofna internals with a lower gear ratio, or can set them up with the stock Traxxas gears with a higher gear ratio. Of course, one would want to strengthen the stock diffs with aluminum cups, aluminum cases and quality bearings.

Or if you prefer a less-religious interpretation, because you were subconsciously neglecting those things while planning your new project.

FLM arms, Aluminum big bore shocks w/4mm shafts, MIP axles, Aluminum knuckles, Steel tie rods w/aluminum ends, 17MM hex's, stubs to convert the UE diffs to MIP CVD, receiver, 30,000 and 50,000W diff oil, geez there's more i'm sure, on the way....... Now just gotta figure out motor, definitely a 2000Kv or less. That's what needs to be figured out.......Stump puller like my basher Maxx or speed demon.
