Ok guys I know some of you heard that the sleeve is nickel plated in the .30VG. OS is using a new process that they have been using on their air plane engines for a few years now, it is called ABL liner(Avanced Bimetallic Liner) it looks like a single cylinder liner, but it's actually two liners in one. The top layer provides the durability to withstand constant wear; the bottom layer froms an unbreakable bond between the top layer and the brass sleeve below.
The reason why OS has done this is: 1. They can control how much of the bonding materal is applyed. (less material is used in this process that makes the sleeve lighter. 2. The piston and sleeve tolerances are more tighter, and more precise. 3. It last just as long as a Crome plated sleeve, if not longer. Several of our OS drivers have been running the .30VG extensively and their has been no indication of wear on the sleeves. If you have any question please ask. PS just a few more weeks and the engines will be in the US. |

It depends largely on the drivers, the track surface/s and the track layout.
The LST's are impressive machines too (good straight line speed!!), but the examples we've had at our track have been plagued with engine related problems. :( If I were to buy another MT, I think it would probably be the LST, but I'd invest in an after market engine and keep the M 26 as a spare. This OS engine is interesting, but I'd like to know a little bit more about the liner. 1./ Washer problem = new sleeve and piston 2./ Wrist pin missing = new sleeve and piston again 3./ Conrod problem = new engine as conrod was poking out of crankase looked funny as hell never seen anything like it. Hopefully by next season will run ok so far so good with the mach |

Thanks!! I wanna see this engine in action, in a LST of course. |
Definatly as the os engines tend to be very reliable and their estimate on hp tends to be on the conservative side normaly.
I would like to see what it can produce in the LST also. That Motor in yours looks prety sweet to  |

i'm having trouble with my o.s. .30. see the dark dirt just below the head. it was leaking maybe still. i took the head off and the cylinder almost lifted out when i pulled it off. it slides out really easy. retorked the head in a crisscross pattern hopefully it works

eewww... give her a bath or sumthing. you let that motor in the backround laying like that in the dirt?

if it were clean you wouldn't see the spot below the head. the engine "laying in the dirt is a fantom .27 nuff said?
