Hey herrsavage, the well versed in the savage world know that the HD parts from the SS kit suck. You owned the worst of all the savages. The brand new 2012-13 savage X has the cheap plastic problems, but again that is an easy fix going with rpm arms. As for the savage tranny being junk, the stock 3spd yes the 2spd no. Reason for 3spd is two of the gears inside it are the thinnest and cant transfer the load. Again easy fix with the bullet proof 3spd mod and it can be done for under $10. You can truly make indestructable by putting the steel 1st gear in it. Now before you go saying, well you've blown up 2 or 3 of these BP trannies. Correct but, why? I run an extremely modified motor pullin speeds the tranny was not designed for, throw in some insane crashes at speeds above 60 and there's your answer. The normal basher will never destroy a BP 3spd. If you want a flux, the strongest option is going center diff, no more broken diffs. I've been there done it all with the savage. The one thing that sold me when I chose to get the savage was HPIs video "don't worry it's a savage". They purposely nose dive the truck at speeds approaching 40mph off a nice embankment. I would guess at least 25-30ft in the air. It crashes and drives off. I have since done that many times over hehe.

You will get many different answers to what is the best monster truck, the descion lies with the one choosing. We all have the best monster truck according to ourselves.

Hey fellas,

Former stadium truck owner here. Just getting back into the sport and wondered what you guys thought of the Thunder Tiger Sledge Hammer 1/8th? I'm looking at picking up the special edition one that comes with the aluminium shocks, etc. Sorry if there is a thread about it, I am on Android and the search function and my phone are having a difference of opinion lol.

MTA-4 S50 SE to be specific

Thanks heaps

Good enough for me . Sorry for n00bing up the thread, after trawling though 30 odd pages, I found out that the MGT 8.0 is essentially the same truck

Say it ain't soooo!!!! Lol that's what I tought too man hahahaha.

Seriously tho if u aren't who we think u are lol the MTA-4/MGT is a good truck, I suggest that u look into it's most recent incarnation, the Rival mosnster truck. I think that's exactly what the MGT platform needed to keep it alive and current in the MT market.
