Default LiPo help

Alright so today I went and ran my e-revo and surprisingly I didn't break anything major but I did break the traxxas wheelie bar and the rear bumper mount. I went to charge the packs and my charger is saying one battery is way out of balance how can I fix this? I have a really low grade charger, it doesn't have a discharge option or anything. Just an option to charge 1s,2s,3s.

It has the balancer but I can't balance a single cell...

I am running 2s and I do plug in the balancer but its too unbalanced for the charger to charge it. Anyways I charged it for a bit without the balancer then I plugged the balancer in and its charging fine now...

Most chargers (even the cheap ones) have circuitry preventing the charging of a Lipo if one of the cells is bellow 3.0 volts. Double check esc cutoff settings and maybe raise it a little if it occurs again.

Not sure what electronics you are running in your revo, but my guess would be 2s is WAY underpowered and can not deliver the power demand thus pulling your battery out of whack. If your running the mamba monster I wouldn't go <4s.

Oh, here you gave me the impression you were running 2s. May have run it to low, or possibly didn't have both packs fully charged which can run the low pack wonky. Also as your packs get a lot of runs on them they can become mismatched which can run one of them wonky. I like to test all my cells periodically with a voltage tester before, after charging, and after running to know for sure where they are at.

curious, what settings do you have for lipo-cutoff on your speed control?

as a tip, I would recommend you do hard cutoff setttings and NOT rely on the ESC to autodetect the packs.

I would also set the cutoff to the equivalent of 3.4V per cell. That shoudl give you some cushion and help your batteries out. So on 4S, that would be 13.6V total. And remember that when you hit cutoff, its a soft cutoff from what I recall, so don't keep running around. bring it in, shut her down.
