Cool Is there any reason I should not buy this truck for the wife?;)

I am a nitro guy, I have a new, not run yet Losi LST XXL.
Now, the wife wants to play also, so, I might have
settled on this new electric truck by Thunder Tiger.
Any one had any experience with it?
Any one going to talk me out of it?
Check it out here.

Get an MT4 G3 instead. Same electronics, lighter, simpler layout.

The E-MTA looks cool, but is unproven. First reports I've seen have been less than stellar.

Ya know, I'm ok with people giving their opinions on my thread
but, when you say it is not stellar, for Gods sake, give me some thing
worth while to think about.
I see in your signature, you have the truck you advised me to get.
Ok, I get that, through me a bone here

As far as the wife out runnin' me

I don't think it's awful or anything. The first few people to report about them though have had various minor issues: broken tranny gears, the battery case is apparently very fiddly, etc..

It's a great-looking truck, and I'm sure it's good enough. It just needs six more months for the bugs to be worked out.. It did come out mid-winter too - so not many people have had them yet or run them much. The facts remain though: it has the same electronics as the MT4, weighs a good chunk more, and has a significantly more complex(and therefore afaic prone to potential issues) drivetrain.. The main advantage I guess compared to the MT4 is that it's more (if not completely) waterproof.

I nearly got one, but went with the MT4 instead - and am glad I did.

From what I've read, the MT4-G3 is discontinued?

No...

TT has just "discontinued" certain product numbers, and re-released the truck with a different number. The MT4 G3 has never been discontinued.

I understand that everybody worships Jang and all, but honestly I am a bit skeptical of how he sees and rates things. It's as if he's comparing every RC he comes across to some Traxxas RTR ideal - because Traxxas RC's are what are sold most, as if that's a legitimate basis for them being the standard. You see here and there how he says "That's not gonna' work" - based, of course, on his experience with god knows what, but then in his running videos he'll admit that he was wrong..

He does seem pretty objective and unbiased I guess, and willing to thrash things without regard to what some company wants, but afaic he's just one guy on the internet running and testing his RC's among many. I really see no reason to invest any more trust in him than I would in anybody here.

I should start a new thread, that goes some thing like this.
"What is the best 1/8 scale RTR electric monster truck/truggy?"
This deciding is tuckering me out

$50 off with the discount code.
