E-Revo ???s
#1
I am a reformed 1/10 off road racer turned backyard "I can beat you to that tree and back" racer. I have loved the revo since it came out and finally I have 2 brushless E-Revos. Do people really hate the E-Revo that much. I hardly ever see one on here for sale and hear a lot of hating on them. Is it because there are none out there or is it because "I Love mine and am in NO way selling it" or is it hate because it is better than the Savage (sorry my friends have Savages and personally I really dont see what the big deal is with them). Summits are out there but seldom a Revo and was curious why....

I feel its because they just are not as popular as they once were (monster trucks in general) .
All the focus has went to 1/8 buggy and truggy . But you are right the EREVO is a great truck and a lot of fun to drive . I still have the same one I got like 4 years ago .....

1/8 Truggy/Buggy makes up most of the noise you'll hear on any forum that has a high concentration of racers.
There's a roving "Traxxas sucks!" squad as well.
I've got a Summit and it's been a great truck. I'd own an E-Revo as well if I didn't already own a Maxx.

I had one along many other traxxas trucks. They cannot hang in the truggy class due to being way too heavy. They are a pain to work on. Outside of that they are fun to drive. Although I don't regret having I wouldn't have another since you just use a truggy to achieve the same thing only better

The truth is hard to ignore......... the Revo is the brother of the Tmaxx and they are both the best selling RTR monster trucks of all time. Yeah, they suck so bad everyone who can afford one has one.

The E-revo stepped to a different level when it stamped out that $750 price tag though because before that $450 would get you any revo on the block with the exception of the Platinum. They are not race trucks against anything other than themselves as far as I am concerned. They are more sporty than a Savage, but still a monster truck. I know of many tracks that have revo races and it's a huge blast when everyone has one and the driver has to actually drive to win. Personally though I think they just make great fun around the house.

Yeah the price is why I didnt have one until now. I loved it before and really like it now. So I didnt make it a week out of racing before I got another racer. I got a Losi 8ight-t nitro roller. So now I got to get the conversion kit for it and when I get to race the truggy will go. Always liked them too!

Example:
Losi 8T Roller with a E-conversion kit = about $650
A nice $100 servo for it.
A Tekin (whatever KV ESC/Motor for Truggy = $280- $310
Futaba 4PL $200
On the low side (If you already have a radio) your looking at about $1000 for a Truggy. To make a traxxas erevo remotly even close to this would cost you another $3-500 in "upgrades" and it still will not be as strong, bash worthy or race worthy as a Truggy. This is not a bash post, it's a reality post.
Your looking at about $1000-1200 for the erevo and $1200 for the Truggy with a new radio, plus you can bash the Truggy if you choose and race it at just about any track your little heart desires.. Even if your into a Truggy for a couple hundred dollars more it's still way worth it. Your going to buy what again?
I don't think it's a matter of anyone hating the $750 plastic erevo, it's more a matter of people starting to open their eyes and doing some math.
IMO, If I want to buy a M/T, I want a real looking M/T! I want a big honking big tire real M/T. I don't want something the same size as a truggy that is "considered" a M/T.. That's just me and my opinion.

Sorry to kill the buzz with some math truth
Try the traxxas forums, you can't tell the truth in there
