Well I just ordered a e-maxx. Can't wait till it comes. I had a brushless one a couple years ago. But this time I bought a brushed and I'm planning on putting a Tekin setup in. What do you guys recommend ??

On 4 S a 1700 KV motor will do fine.
I run a loose, outdoor track and I like Maxx Mulcher tires.17 mm hex on white proline rims...:deathstar
A 1515 Neu(1650 kv) on 5 S is very fast and I'm geared as far low as I can go with my set up.Tires baloon up at 40.
No center diff and mod 1 gears:14/66.

I see you mentioned dipping n waterproofing. There several hitec, futaba and others all carry water resistant/ proof. Hitec actually has blue model, waterproofing the analog 645 and 0digital 5645

Go fast but don't overheat it.

The thing I learned about big motors is that they will overheat.
a 6.5 Novak on 2 S is just as fast on a 10.5 on 3 S.The 6.5 will overheat.

The 5 B runs 8 S on a 480 KV motor! 21 pound machine.2 WD.:tire:

The point is run low KV motor and up the voltage.

Then there is gearing.

A 4WD Maxx w/1700KV on 4 S will be fine.Stock wheel base? It WILL wheelie!!!!
My 1650 KV on 5 S is almost un drivable w/14 " wheel base.Does not overheat.
I had a Novak 7.5(5800 KV) on 4 S and it overheated.
My little truck(Vendetta) w/10.5 Novak ALWAYS overheats.2 S.(7300 KV)

I'm running a 1700kv 6s and 20/68 gearing.
It wheelies and when I floor it standing still it will land on its back. Probably goes 40 im going to do a speedometer run this weekend then I will find out for sure

Your truck is a LAND ROCKET!!!!
If you jack the suspension way up,you could do standing still back flips.

Sorry. i had to work on my car.
The front and rear drive shafts ideally should be level. Keeps the center of gravity low and uses the full travel of the shocks and is a LOT easier on the CVD'S.
If the shocks are at the highest setting in the tower and on the arms(inboard)
AND the drive shafts are level, your running shocks that are too short for your truck.
I was saying that if we were to jack up the trucks to the maximum level,so the drive shafts were angled towards the wheels, the ride height would be way high and the trucks would do a standstill back flip because of that condition.
When you punched the throttle, the rear would squat and the front would rise up,violently. If you kept the throttle pegged,it may come all the way around to it's tires, again. Especially with really BIG tires. OR,no front bumper.
