Default Nitro vs electric???

So i have always been into nitro. The sound and smell are always something that has made me a nitro person. The smell of nitro in the morning and the ability to change the sound of a nitro by changig pipes, the ability to change the way the engine performs just by changing the clutch, gearing and nitro fuel percentage.. Its all a sweet thing to me... But... Im tryig to figure out whats beter still after all these yrs. i run a savage x 4.6 at the moment and am in the process of building a savage flux.. I always likes the flux's and i figured id build another one seeing that i had to sell the one i had. Now my question is.. What is better.. Nitro vs electric? I love my nitro but i feel that nitro is fading and electric is over coming everything in rc now a days.

if got the budget and requirement, have both GP and EP. nothing can be compared to a nitro but having an strong powerful EP like a flux is equally fun from a different perspective. at our local track fun races, we mix both EP and GP as the participants is not that many - I have problem with EP as it will be drowned by the sound of nitro pipes. I use my flux for bashing only on and off the track and for fun races i use nitro. In the event my 8 year old wants to join the fun races, he will use the EP Flux...other people may have different perspective/requirement.

When I used to work at a hobby shop, I got this question a lot....my take on it is that if you like Nitro, there is no reason to get rid of your nitros. Electric is more popular, maybee 10 to 1, but that doesent mean that you need to get rid of your nitros.
Electrics are faster for the money, but we dont always need to be going a fast as possible all the time.....

Yeah i agree lol. I always sell my nitro to get into electric.. I like electric but having to wait for charging sucks.. But i always seem to find myself selling my electric to get back my nitro lol. I guess its a hard call. Its nice to have one of both tho i guess

Neither is better, they are good for different reasons. Unless this toy hobby is paying the mortgage, run which ever makes you happy. It's your hobby so why are you asking others what you should do to have fun. Just my .02

If your good with nitro and like it, stick with it. Electric is the only thing i run right now but hat's because nitro was too much for me (too complicated, and too much maintenance). Whichever one you have most fun with, keep doing that.

I used to own a savage flux with a mamba monster 2200 combo in it. All i can say is power, power, power. Not like the power of nitro where you have to say at a certain rpm to use it, i'm talking about power at any rpm at anytime. Backflips, standing backflips, and wheelies at almost any speed. Thing was so fast on 4s, it would melt the slipper pads right off if you didn't have it tightened down enough. Only sold it to further fund my racing vehicles and bashing by myself was getting boring. I really can't even see why you'd need 6s unless you're trying to move the earth itself.

Haha ya i know. I had a flux at one time but it was yrs ago when they first came out. I was buying it off a budy and paying payments on it and the guy backed out and wanted it back so i had to give it back. It was insane. I thought it was the best thing i ever tried. It was fast and like u said wheelie at anytime lol

I took a dip into the electric pool this past year and haven't been overly impressed (8T 2.0 E and Mugen Eco). Honestly I get bored with the electric kits before the pack runs out. Now I don't race but just bashing around the dirt bmx park and streets gets boring with no noise or smoke. I will say the E's are nice to keep around for a girlfriend to drive though. Limit the current or EPA and just let them have fun

I dont think one is better than the other....they both have pros and cons..I guess it just comes down to what you like...I personally like both, Love the smell of nitro and bein able to work on it like its a real vehicle...I like electrics because of the simplicity and and bein able to run it anywhere without annoying people lol...Also certain RCs I like cant be Nitro (Clod Busters and other solid axle trucks), but as far as course racing goes, I would take either one. The nitro buggys and SCTs seem really fun and I loved the Savage X I had, but I only liked it when I raced MT style at different events. If you like Electric dont talk bad about Nitro and vice versa...All areas of RC should be fun!

If you want tons and tons of power to do crazy tricks and high speed runs, if you want to simply be able to flip a switch and go, and if you want to be able to basically run anywhere... go electric.

if you want a lot of noise and smoke, if you want to limit when and where you can bash, and if you like tuning and cleaning up an oily mess after every outing... go nitro.
