techno conversion question for revo
#1
Hello All,
Just finished a conversion on my Slayer. On it, I went with a 4500 viper/copperhead combo. I locked 2nd gear and used only a pinion gear without the original clutch setup. I gained reverse using this method and it has turned out to be very reliable. The truck is very fast and seems to run at a low temp.
I get 15 "race" minutes from a 5000 2s lipo. Not super long times but I can live with it. I'll post some pics as soon as I can find my usb cable for my phone.
Anyway...I have a revo 2.5 monster truck that I want to convert next only I want to retain the mechanical brake, the 2 speed tranny, the bell clutch system and all the original servos. Basically, I just want to add a 2200 mamba monster and use it for forward only...no braking and no reverse.
My question is...will I be able to use the opti-drive with the speed control setup. On my slayer, I no longer needed the switch since it was hooked up to the speed control. I'm just trying to figure out the electronics ahead of time.
Any opinions or info would be appreciated
