Default Troubleshooting T Maxx

I am lost on this one ha ha, I can get it to fire up instantly! It will idle for long enough to do a pinch test to test my Lsn, 7 seconds then dead. From what I have read that is perfect... Problem is it will start run and idle on a block while I kinda rev it a sec to keep it going and you think ok here we go its ready to pound the dirt then bam it stops cold turkey... Fires right back up give it the throttle goes 10 feet bam stops cold turkey again.... Wth is going on? Give me some ideas as to what could be causing this?

Two things....

1. Don't try to tune anything unless the engine is at least 200 deg.
2. A good tune on the bench is way different than what it will be actually running.

Post up a video if you can. That will help to diagnose the problem. First thought though is a too rich LSN. 7 seconds is actually a bit long for a pinch test.

I will try and get a video soon, Well I can get 5-6 second pinch tests easy. So once I have say a 6 sec pinch on the Lsn what is my next step to solving this issue?

Ok so I need to lean out the Lsn to where it is 3 seconds pinch? Tuning bible said 7 if I remember right. Would it being rich on the lsn cause the problem I am describing?

yes would be the LSN I would go back to stock settings and tune from there. Flush with inner ring on LSN and 4 turns out from closed on HSN

1 3/4 turns out on the LSN is factory. pinch should be 2-3 seconds max on a warmed up engine.

Awesome I tuned a little on it last night but I got the lsn to like a 4 second pinch and it was doing better but it still would do ok at a idle for like 20 to 30 sec then it would just stop like instantly...... What do you think makes it die instantly? still rich on the lsn? Being rich on the lsn make it die like that? It fires up pretty much time I touch the starter so its like it wants to do good then about 10 sec to 20 sec it just dies out instantly.

maybe its loading up on fuel and flooding it out causing it to stall.

Thats what I have been pondering in my head. Would a load up of fuel cause a almost instant shut off? Like what I mean is it sounds like is going good takes off about 15 or so feet instant throttle feed back seems great and then like I said bam! she dies!

Ok so after looking tonight I noticed that I was waaaaaayyyy rich on the bottom end. Apparently it is 1.75 turn out from the bottom on a lsn.... I was like 3 turns out... So adjusted it and still dont have it running yet but maybe I am closer at least. At factory settings now and its still not right.

1 3/4 on the LSN is a baseline only, is it idling fast or slow? 20-30 seconds and it dies means its loading up. 10 or so seconds is kind of a rule of thumb " depending on the tuner himself" before you start noticing the low side being rich and loading up. 4 seconds is somewhat ok on the pinch, try to get a 2-3 second pinch. What glow plug are you running? 3232X is a factory hot plug, you can use an OS LC3 or a Duratrax LR3 as replacements "same temp" How old is the plug and have you tried a new one yet?

yeah I know lots O questions to answer, just trying to narrow down your options
