I sold one of my factory race spec. RC10B2's and I still regret that

I saw it in the for sale section on the Traxxas forum last year

Look at the many looks!! Proline use to make some sweet wheels for the maxx's back in the day!!! They make some cool ones now... But them older ones sure were spiffy!! I had some too!! I think they were called Velocity or something like that! On Mashers!! They were pre-mounts....
Just ordered the Trencher X's premounts on Desperado's for my Summit! 5lbs of wheels and tires!!! Should be interesting!! Wandering if I'll have to make a trip to my LHS for some different pinions... Being that with that much tire, I *may* need to gear down... Puttin HPI Savage Premounts on my E-maxx required gearing down... It was a dog on 18t pinions... Think I have 17t or 16t on there now...

just got done doing a flm emaxx build a while back.

parts list
flm chassis
flm hybrid bulkheads
ue shock towers
flm hinge pins
flm skids
rpm skids on top of flm
rpm arms
ofna hyper 7 diffs
proline powerstroke shocks
tekno carriers
losi xxl cvds
traxxas heavy duty tie rods
hobbyking 120 esc
turnigy motor
flm side motor mount
kershaw battery tray

The truck has taken a serious beating, i blew a outdrive cup out on the first run but then switched them to rc monster and have not had any problems. Originally had the truck on the 4 shock ue/ofna setup but switched to the pro lines and prefer that. Bent a couple hinge pins and just broke a arm but i spend most of the time at the bmx track/ freestyle jumps

Those proline Weld wheels and paddles actually weighed less then the stock wheels with chevrons
I also have a set of Swamp Dawg MT tyres ...they're quite a bit heavier than the stock tyres

I like the Trenchers
So ....Any new photos of your truck ??

Dhthmn114 03-24-2012 03:01 PM

I've got a ton of em!! Ton of pics for all my trucks!! But I'm offshore right now @ work... I can upload them on my PC when I fly home... Workin off an iPad right now... Lol... I arrive home on the 28th.. This wed... And I'm about to do a complete teardown/rebuild of my Summit.... So I'll have a billion pics to post then!! My maxx JUST got finished before I came out for this hitch... So it's still nice and shiny with 95% new parts!!! Haha... Only ran 1 set of batteries through it to make sure everything was in working order... Didn't even get it dirty!!!

Dhthmn114 03-24-2012 03:02 PM

Nice FLM MAXX moondoggie!!! I almost went the FLM route... But I knew I'd burn AT LEAST $1000 doing that!!!!

moondoggie 03-24-2012 03:14 PM

Thanks and yea they can get pretty pricey but with the hobbyking electronics it's not too bad. Also I was big into racing and sold almost all of my racing stuff and just have more fun bashing now.

Since no one has posted a Nitro version I will.

Custom 5 piece extended chassis, 15 ½ inch wheel base
GA bulkheads with custom hinge pin capture system
New Era chassis braces
Custom shock towers and limiting straps
Custom skid plates and wear plates
Custom bulkhead braces
HPI BP diffs
Custom single speed with 1/8th scale center differential transmission
Custom front and rear brakes
UE Wide Maxx a-arms
Tekno axle carriers with custom 8mm stub axles/Ofna 17mm hexes
HPI center drive shafts
All wheel shafts are UE dog bones with UE drive cups on the diffs and stub axles
Recessed Ofna violator fuel tank
Ofna shocks with custom springs and revo variable damping pistons
Custom steering bellcrank with integrated servo saver

I’m sure I missed a few things as well

It’s only been powered by a BB engine a few times for testing.
It has been completely disassembled and all aluminum polished waiting for the new HPI gas engine to be released.

SnoopMaxx 03-24-2012 04:50 PM

@Dht ...Can't wait to see those pic's
@Snook Man.. I hope that gas motor is all they say it is... I might even get a 1/8th gas motor and build a 2nd buggy ..
The worst part about Nitro is the fuel prize and that darn noise :flaming:

Dhthmn114 03-24-2012 10:22 PM

That may be the cleanest "T-maxx" I've ever seen.... Usually they are greasy and look like the underside of an 80's model car!!! Nice truck!!

I've been following your build as well!!! Just got tired of hunting down each individual one.... Figured this thread would be a good way for everyone to discuss different ideas, parts, etc..... NICE RIG BTW!!!!
