why would I need to throw trenchers on it when it's my first R/C and I haven't even driven it yet?

Because some guys can't leave well enough alone. It's like buying a 1:1 car. You can't just leave it stock, right?

Enjoy your truck, fresh out of the box. Drive it for a while and get to know it, then you can decide what upgrades you want.

That's exactly what I was planning to do.

It's a great truck out of the box but when you want to upgrade it the trencher tires have a ton more traction than the stockers. Plus look cool as hell. It and the savage xs are my favorite bashers.

I was looking at the Savage Flux but then I thought that would be way too much power for me. I'll definitely keep the Trencher in mind for upgrade later on, thanks.

I wasn't trying to be negative. I left mine stock for over a year before going lipo and then adding new rims and tires.

I can't justfy spending 600 or more bucks on one rc but would love the full size savage flux. The mini flux is a fun rig though. The pede is a little bigger and handles better because of it.

I know, just came off weird with throw trenchers on it asap but not supply a reason for it hence why I was asking about it.

When you buy your next truck (and you will...) check out the Thunder Tiger MT4. You might like that better than the Flux.

Or, you can lurk the Buy/Sell forums here and pick up the parts for a truck over a few months. Build your own out of parts lots. Be patient and play your cards right, you can build a decent truck for 1/2 of the new truck price.

I started out with a rustler xl5 in feb 2010 and you see how many I have now. The mt4 looks like a beast. I read the review about it on big squid. I'll get a big monster one day

The stampede was our first rc great starter truck couple weeks later we invested in lipo batteries and we were amazed it was like a whole new truck but started breaking parts witch led up to $$$$ but with that much more performance comes more responsibly
