I have wanted one of these since i was a kid. I remember just staring at them in the mags but knew i couldn't get one. I have always looked on ebay but couldn't justify the cost. This will be perfect!

I've wanted one of these really bad just found out they were doing a re-release. I just saw last night on tower hobbies they have them up for pre-order I guess. $799.99, big price tag.

When they re-released the Ms. Pacman and Galaga arcades years ago the originals plummeted, might be the same case with these bruisers.

TF2 for me............

Flame-suit on....I too wanted one when I was younger before a real "scaler" was around or even the word scaler was. It was the first, no doubt.
To drop that kind of coin on something that a stock SCX will crawl circles around?? I just don't get it. It won't be all that collectable in 20 years because it will always be the Re-Re.
Tamiya needs to step-it up and build a real scaler that will perform, not just look good. So far they have failed big-time in that arena.

Not knocking Tamiya, they were the only game really back in the late 70's early 80's and I have several of thier kits on the shelf. I just don't understand the attraction that's all.

I can't disagree with this. I have a few Tamiyas from when I was younger and I would actually like to get another Tamiya kit, I think they're fun build and bash around. I probably won't be dropping the cash on this bruiser though.

Looks nice, that's all.

That seems to be enough of an attraction to sell lots of other crap nobody needs (I am not necessarily talking about R/C here) or that does not perform very well for what it attempts to be (think anything you want, mobile phones, cars, shoes, etc).

People like things that look nice (check out the bling industry).
