Muggy

Any muggy racers out there? Just curious is it dead everywhere?

Shem1 01-06-2012 08:10 AM

Yepppppp! One here :) Runnin with the truggy class.

WindDrake 01-06-2012 08:10 AM

MT racing is alive and well, but the Muggy? Nah. Hence Losi discontinuing it.

Sucks, too, because the pig is hilarious fun with electric conversion.

Wallee 01-06-2012 08:18 AM

If its just monster truck racing then what are some setups they are using out there or is it just random? I guess what I am trying to figure out is the rules and stuff. I know about the buggy scene was just wonderin was there a class for MT guys out there.

Herrsavage 01-06-2012 08:25 AM

I had a Muggy and it was a really great RC.. Tough, fast, lot of fun... Really liked it..

But - and just throwing this out there - there is no way IMO it should be classifiedd as an MT. It's a truggy with big shocks, and that's it.. So for racing it's kind of an oddball.. Not fair against Savages and LST2's and co afaic(because it's a truggy), but too big and heavy and outdated against the newest racing truggies..

Awesome basher though..

You race MT's?

Shem1 01-06-2012 08:40 AM

More race setups for both Nitro and E-Muggys can be found in detail at LST forums (hdrcvideos).

I keep up with the truggies just fine. I don't win any, but I have fun and can stay on the lead lap. When I raced my LST2 I got stuck with the truggies as well, and managed to beat a couple of truggies. Now with the Muggy it's even better.

Nice shem, Thanks for the info. Very nice truck. You must race that beast?

Shem1 01-06-2012 08:57 AM

Thanks bud! Yep my club is Tallahasse RC. They have an awesome group of guys there and the track is very fun for 1/8 Truggy.

http://www.tallahasseerc.com/trcforum/

Next race is tomorrow:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/florida-...club-race.html

Registration on RC Signup. Sometimes they get enough people out there to run a MT class as well. But, MT class has been dying out as of late.

Wallee 01-06-2012 09:01 AM

Nice, I run buggy as well man. I mostly bash and really enjoy doing it too!

Shem1 01-06-2012 09:07 AM

My next car will be a buggy. I've always wanted one, but never had the money to own two cars at once. Someday I'll get one. I almost got a buggy instead of this Muggy but what I like about the Muggy is that you can bash it too. When I'm not running on the track I can just go down a tooth on the pinion and put some MT tires on and it bashes like a beast. Tough as nails. I have to say that I like it more than my LST2.

Wallee 01-06-2012 09:26 AM

I just got my first buggy and they are really fun going to take it out to my track this weekend and do some bashin. I have a losi aftershock/lst I have been working on upgrading for a while it is really fun to bash.

Shem1 01-06-2012 09:44 AM

Heres a pic of my Muggy with the race lid on. Imagine this bad boy comin up from behind you on the track :)
