diff fluid

Got a plaitnum revo with a .26 picco max. Cant find the 500k center diff fluid at my lhs. Only ofna 150k. Is that close enough.

losifan94 01-04-2012 03:04 PM

Im almost positive that they dont make a 500k weight. I think 150k is the highest. You might be thinking of 50k weight.

keith09 01-04-2012 03:27 PM

I have read a lot about the center diff on the revos. I think a lot of the people get the numbers correct. Some say it's 500k some say its 5k I don't know. But I went with 50k. I don't get any ballooning on the front with it.

Ok. Thnx guys

50k is thick stuff, I would try 10k if your racing so the fronts might actually pull. If you get to think you might as well lock the diff

KWatkins1991 01-04-2012 09:48 PM

500k = full lock lol

That just sounds really low.

Just went back on traxxas web site. And steve slayden set up sheet says 500k in canter diff? Does any one even make 500k diff fluid.

JB Weld, silly putty, maybe modeling clay, a chunk of the sock you are wearing, anything like that. :batman:

500k is what you want in the center diff not 50k. I run 50k in the front and the 500k (Kyosho or Traxxas)in the center and 10k in the rear. Any less than 300K in the center will cause too much front transfer. The stock Platinum comes with 100k so going to 120k won't help much. 300k would work well for a loose loamy track but on high bite 500K is the way to go.

Same set up I've used since the Platinum came out.. works great..500k is available and yes it's thick.. most think you can do the same weights as they would do on thier truggy, I for one tried that and it did not work..

I thought you guys were kidding about 500k weight

keith09 01-07-2012 02:34 PM

Here is what I don't get. Everyone is saying 500. But I have read post saying that is to much. I'm not talking about the traction and stuff. I have seen other forums about the platinum's front tires ballooning up real bad not how much traction they get.

Cadimman 01-07-2012 04:17 PM

I had 500K in my center diff Revo. Works great.

Tip for filling diffs w/ 500k:

Get it warm! Boil some water and put the 500k bottle in hot water so it warms up and flows better. Use a small spoon and scrape it into your diff housing. The stuff is hard to work with!

You will be happy with the results!

*Just noticed your are in Hawaii. Maybe hold it over a lava flow w/ some tongs!

2fat 01-09-2012 09:51 PM

Lol. Just got to keep it in my car four a few hours.

2fat 01-12-2012 04:54 PM

WTF.:flaming: ITS ON BACK ORDER. GOT MY TRANS OUT OF THE TRUCK IN PEACES. CANT PUT IT BACK TO GEATHER WITH OUT THE 500K DIFF OIL. ANY IDEAS WHAT I CAN USE IN THE MEAN WHILE?:flaming:. MAHALO (THNX) ALL THE WAY FROM HAWAII.
