Possible diff issue on my E-Maxx
#1
I've noticed that I get a very small amount of diff fluid around the seam. It's not enough to form a drip but enough for dirt and dust to cling to. I don't think it's anything else because I've cleaned the truck up good and if I let it sit for a couple of days I can wipe it off. It's more pronounced on the front than the rear. I don't see any physical damage to the casing and all the screws are in place.
Maybe I need to tear it down and check each of the screws to be sure they are all tight.
Is there a way to true up the mating surfaces?
Are the seams sealed with any compound?
If I have them apart should I consider refilling with a thicker fluid to aid in locking up the diffs?
Thanks!

Your Maxx's diffs shouldn't be leaking diff fluid. There shouldn't be anything in the diff housing other then grease.
The Diff Cup itself (which contains the Spider Gears), should be the only thing full of diff oil. The Ring and Pinion gears should just be greased.
If your diff cup is leaking fluid, make sure the rubber seal between the Cup and Ring Gear isn't torn.
