Update, just added this beast 2250kv and shredded 2 freakin tranny's
trying to run it on the track. Holly crap. It was super fast on the street but did'nt get any numbers. I'm so ticked off, now that i'm out of a truck. So now I need a tranny, Do you guys know if the bl emaxx tranny will handle the power? Or do I have to do the steel gear option? By the way, I did brake down and bought a new motor bracket.
lol

Unfortunately I think you will run into this issue redskull, as did I. The RRP gears seem like they are a must-have for this to be reliable. I don't think the t-maxx trannys can handle the instant torque of a brushless. I'd imagine the BL emaxx trans should hold up just fine, considering that is what it is made for. The issue there is that the 2 transmissions mount to the chassis differently.
There is hope though, I may be looking to sell my 3.3 trans with full RRP gears inside. I gotta see if I can make it work on an emaxx chassis first, if not you guys will be the first to know.
Progress update on my stuff. I now have a set of HCR towers and arms, a set of UE supermaxx wide maxx arms, a set of FLM towers and skids, and half of a Gorillamaxx G2 chassis. Going to be ordering an FLM chassis this week. And I am debating between FLM bulks or ACNCM bulks. Yeah the FLMs are nice and all name-brandy, but the ACNCM are much cheaper @ $40 for all 4 bulks, and they seem plenty strong. In case you're curious

Hey 92lilredy, I saw your pics on your tranny set up. How is it holding up? As you know I ripped up 2 2.5 tranny's. I'm looking to get a bl emaxx tranny. Isnt that what you have? My set up is a beast of a motor. If not I'm going to get steel gears. Oh what center shafts are you using? Can you update some pix I'd like to see your finished product.

The BL tranny holding up great! I added some lock nuts to hold it down(was tapped, and backed out once) It took a little work but well worth it. You can see my pics, and write up on page 2. Those are the adptors I made(in blue) to mount a BL tranny to a tmaxx chassis.
For center shafts: front, brushless emaxx shaft, rear is a rear 1/8scale buggy center shaft that someone on ebay was advertising that would work with an extended chassis tmaxx(what I have) and it worked great no wear at all. I think the BL emaxx center shafts will hold up and you can cut them down if needed.
I will try to get pics of my setup tonight.

Alright here is the rear shaft I used, should fit extended chassis tmaxx and new emaxx.

over all layout.

Brushless emaxx tranny

homemade shock tower lol

The vxl is in there right now instead of the MMP because of being water proof :-) The Vxl runs the 2400kv good on 3s.

No this thing is a 1.5 that is over 12 years old. About a year after I got it I did the XTM extended chassis .21 converstion, and installed a .26 on it I think. Problem was no one had anything for a Tmaxx that would hold up to that power and after the motor got a little tired I retired it. Brought back to life with brushless power, and the internet.
Im running 22/65t for gearing, not sure whats in the BL emaxx tranny.

Just got my new tranny from a 3908. Obviously it does'nt fit, so I did some modification's and it looks and fits pretty good. Thanks to 92lilredyj's idea... Now I'm just waiting for my spur gear and slipper set to come in.

Toy that looks good! That tranny is a beast, I have yet to brake it even with a high brake.
Watch the 8 bolts that hold it down, mine keep coming loose, I went down to 4 with lock nuts, and that worked better. I had to dremal a little of the plastic off the tranny to get the nut to fit. I went though a couple of spur gears before I switched, because the tranny would come loose and cause a bad gear mess.

No the big bores are not any better except for keeping oil in.
I would look for a 1/8th scale shock upgrade. Or the proline maxx shocks but they are discontinued. I have the proline and they are kick ass. They rub a little on the RPM arms, and on the driveshafts but it is ok. I picked them up off of RCC for $30
You can try thicker oil in your shock and a stiffer spring.
