Default Highroller Trans Problem

So i got a Highroller 1/10 and within one run on the truck with a 3000 onyx battery stripped 2 gears in the tranny. The idler gear (inside the tranny) and another gear im not to sure what it is (its the largest gear with 3 smaller gears in it)

I would like metal gears so this does not happen again. Ive found them i believe on ebay but just wanna make sure im getting the right stuff

Found both on ebay but cant post links yet since im a new user

this is the Item numbers

Those are: Idler gear and diff gear OR "ring gear"... The small gears that go in the ring gear are called planetary gears.

Okay I found those two in aluminum but can't find the others... All the others are plastic will they work with the metal ones? I'm trying to get this truck durable. It will keep the stock motor indefinitely

You can't find the planet gears in steel? Do they even make them? I don't know this trans but I know gears

See that's the thing idk if they do, I know I can get them made but idk if I need to, the trucks all stock with a mid grade battery on it. You can look up either the losi strike, slider, or high roller gear bag and it'll show them all. There is a company that makes stamped steel gears but it's not all of them. And the LHS which i will no longer be going to want do anything for me.

Well,

Your planet gears are for the diff action (side to side)... They will put the power to the tire with the least amount of traction or "one wheel wonder".. It's up to you if you want to put plastic gears in a steel/aluminum diff. I can't imagine them not being made from someone though...

Okay so is there anything that might act as a posi trac or something that might work instead, such as a spool??? I'm new into this it's the first car I've had in ten plus years... Just not to impressed with this one... Not really what I wanted anyway but girlfriend said we had to get the prettier one...

Honestly, even if they made a spool for it I would not use it. It puts stress on the whole drive line inc. wearing out the tires faster. Example is when you turn, the outside tire always has to spin just a bit faster then the inside. They like to hop with lockers.

I would just slap the steel idler and ring gear in the thing with the plastic planets and see how it holds up for you.

Ya I thought about it, the truck is gonna stay stock forever it just amazes me that the mini highroller you can get all steel gears for it... I'm gonna get those two gears and see how it goes. I was gonna go briskness and get the boy a electrix truck but guess my plans will be changing

If I where you I would stay away from the electrix and Highroller. Get a used Stampede. Its twice the truck. Fix the Highroller and sell it.

Im shure its "ok", I just havent read anything that great. Most people recommend the Pede over it. Im shure its still fun and decently durable.
