my maxx.. if you want to still call it that! lol!

its a bit modified haha... in these pics it has a ported XTM 247 and my beater tires but I just picked up a NovaRossi .28 for it and normally run other tires for racing.
in a nutshell it is a JT hybrid chassis, Unlimited Engineering (UE) 1/8 scale diffs, UE 8mm CVD's, UE Racer X suspension, UE supershocks, with a Hyper 7 wing, some crap heavy Al bulkheads (will be getting Dace bulks eventually), and umm lots more. basically the only thing that is still traxxas are a couple pillow balls. lol!

lol.. mantle?? heck last weekend I won a long jump competeion (50' 6" jump) with it and a hill climb course too in a local rc Truck competition. I even just got home from the track too so its filthy dirty right now. Its not shelf queen at all.
It jumps great and handles even better. weight isn't bad either. its about 10.5 lbs and after I get lighter bulkheads it should be right about 10 lbs. I'm very happy with it now and it holds up to serious power without a problem. I got sick of breaking tranny's every couple months so I went to the hybrid setup.

probably me.. put a .247 or NovaRossi .28 in tmaxx with a good 1/8 scale clutch and see how long the tranny lasts. even with aluminum gears all that ends up happening is you shear the pins that hold the gears on or you end up wearing out one way bearings evey couple months. Even with a UE super 6 tranny its still all to easy to strip the first and second gear's with a silly powerfull engine and a 1/8 scale clutch.
I got sick of striping tranny gears non stop. Why put $250 into a tranny and rebuild it every couple months when for the same price I could go hybrid and have a 100% reliable setup. Single speed gearing is just as fast if not faster than the 2 speed trucks because the single speed has a lighter rotational weight with two big bearings vs the 3 shafts and 10 or so tiny bearings and gears all over the place.
one more pic of my JT hybrid Maxx with my Kyosho Landmax 2.
