Default E-Maxx purchase?

I've got this extreme urge to buy an E-Maxx. I have a T-Maxx, (old one) that I have driven into the ground. I am a bit fed up with nitro, it is too expensive and too much hassle. (Saying that, I love my T-Maxx, and I enjoyed racing 1/8 buggies too, but I think electric is more my style.

Do you all think an E-Maxx is good value for money?

Thanks!

worth the money? YUP, its an all around racer and basher in stock form. the only downside with e-maxx is running 2 packs and charging them, bummer. i suggest getting a charger that charges 2 batt packs at the same time.

You must take into consideration the run time issue. Do you race 4 minute races in the Monster truck class? If you race longer than 4 minutes you may not make it. A friend and I race Emaxx's against nitro trucks on a slightly tight track with not much of a straight away and usually beat them. But we have good packs and good chargers. We are just running the stock titan motors.

Electric is a nice change of pace if you have to go indoors on carpet in the winter to race.

Oh... well in that case It should be perfect for that. Every time you want to run it it will start. (unlike a nitro)
Just dont overheat the stock motors and they will last a long time.

I really enjoy racing my e-maxx,but as far as just bashing and playing I would prob. go with a nitro just because of the run time difference.

best electric monster truck on the market....as far as runtime...good set of 3000's if you just playing around...i have gotten up to 20 min out of, you not gonna see much more than that out of nitro

Thanks for the input everybody. I have ordered the E-Maxx, 4 2000Mah Sanyo batteries, and a charger that can charge 2 batteries.

(Digipeak)

Thanks, I should have it by next week, my dogs better be ready to run!

put in 18t pinions i think it comes with 15 stock. you get more use out of 1st gear and run time is still very good. i used shark 1500"s the cheapest batteries you can get and had 12min run times. i was in first most of the time also. get some good numbered 3300 packs and run time will be above 20 mins.

I got my E-Maxx, and ran it around a bit yesterday. It trundles along at a steady clip, it does.

Actually, the damn thing is scary fast! I love it !

Here is my old T and my new E:
