Default Picco .28 or hpi 5.9cc?

Im getting a savage xl, and I was wondering whether to keep the stock engine or put a picco in it and sell the 5.9?

I have the Picco in LST2 and its awsome, just choose the right pipe. I found I like the Trinity Extech Big Boy pipe, Im also setup up to race not sure what your setup is.

Go with the Picco and put a 086 on it. Or go all out and buy the Picco from Clockwork Racing Engines; you won't be dissappointed.

Yes, the picco engines are great but the k5.9 is also a great engine that puts out a ton of torque required to get the xl moving as well as 39000 rpm, I've had really good luck with the k5.9's. Try it out, the picco's not needed here. Just make sure you use the hpi plugs, most of the other plugs won't hold up to the vibration. If you really want to roost, convert it to 6s 2200kv it's night and torque wise. I think a .28 picco is to small for this truck, amazing engine but....to small.

the 5.9 does not rev to anywhere near 39000 RPM...more like 29000 rpm and thats being generous.... The Picco is not too small for the XL< in fact the Picco is far more powerful then the 5.9 anyways...yes its smaller, but its got more torque and more HP so it will push a XL much easier then the 5.9 will...............Try a Picco and you will not think so highly of a 5.9 afterwards...

It might hit 39K right before it punches a huge hole in the case.

You must of got a good 5.9, because no one likes them including me... Its a horrible engine with no power. Overheats while spitting fuel and I even sealed it several times... Picco .28 is ftmfw.
