jjust wondering if anyone has experience with the mach 26 engine? are they any good? dependable? etc...thanx in advance.

I don't have direct experience with them, but when the Kyosho GT 1st came out, there were a bunch of folks unhappy with teh stock mill. There were several that switched to mach26s and they seemed to be happy. This was on RCCA. From what I've read, seems to have a good rep.

The 427 is more reliable than some top dollar engines. I tuned mine once and have never touched the needles ever again.

so is the 427 different than the mach 26? sorry for the dumb questions, lolthe lst im buyig has mach 26 in it. only six tanks through it. worth 400 bucks you think?

yea..427 is alot better...

better carb...etc..m.26 is a 3 port 427 is a 5

and they dont have that washer on the conrod that breaks and screws the motor up

right, right...well, i may have to get a 427 for it then. you still think the lst is worth 400 bucks tho? this things like brand new. lots of parts and jr radio and stuff too.

if so they are good trucks...but you coant beat the quality and duribility of the lst2 and xxl

yeah it was purchased in 2006 i think its the lst1 basically broken in and then shelved. man i love the size. its f'n huge! big shocks too. hey thanx for ur advice and input too by the way. much appreciated!

I wonder if the truck you're looking at buying is an Aftershock. They came w/ the Mach-26, and IIRC they are basically the same truck as the original LST. In which case, no, it's probably not a good idea to pay 400 bucks for a used truck that you could buy new for 360-ish, unless it had a bunch of upgrade stuff on it.

I don't know how many times I've heard "yeah it's only got 6 tanks through it". Not that it's not true in this case, but personally, if I buy any used nitro stuff at all, I do so with the assumption that the engine is toast and pay accordingly.

I had two mach 26's. One was a dream to run, and the other was a pain. But they were quick in my mgt.

The Mach .26 is the best nitro motor I have used. Now I don't have a huge amount of experience and never owned the $500 Rossi motors but the Machs are very powerful, extremely forgiving and just fun.

I wouldn't pay anywhere near $400 for an LST1 or 2 personally. They sell for $200-$250 at most on CL in my area. I got one a few months ago for less than $150 with roto start, batteries, JR XS3 radio (which is stock btw) and extras.

IMO the LST2 trucks are one of the best bashers available for nitro.

the mach 26 was a great engine for me. i used them in my BB tmaxx about 5-6 years ago. loved them zero issues. good engine for the $ but a pig on fuel.
