Now the hub size I assume means the wheels would fit on my truck? But unless they match the diameter and width of the stock wheels I assume they would be for a different size tire?

The hub size is the size that fits on to your axle (trying to avoid saying your nut size, lol)

If it says 14mm 3.8 inch wheel then you find the tires that are 3.8 inches

Do NOT buy 40 series wheels UNLESS you have the 17mm adapter, then in that case you would also have to buy 40 series tires. But this is not your case

Also, If you are looking to buy BEADLOCK wheels (the tires are held on by many tiny screws) you must buy BEADLOCK tires (also in your 14mm).

If you just refer to it as a 14mm hex or 17mm hex, its pretty clear what you're talking about.....

I know its more expensive, but you can change wheels too - as long as they're 14mm hex, they will work.
I wanted lightest weight wheels/tires to reduce rotating weight and get the most reponse from the motors. Reason I went with SportTraxx wheels and tires. That dropped a bunch of weight off of my 3906, making it much more responsive.

Traxxas tires have a different bead so you can only use them with TRX wheels. Then you're limited with these rims:

It's best to change wheels and tires, you can use MT size (3.2) or stretch some MT tires onto LPR rims(3.7) for a lower profile.

Stock Emaxx wheels are similar to 40 series I think.(3.8?)

I'm really surprised that nobody else is making stuff the same size as Traxxas given how popular the E-maxx is.

Is there a size tire and wheel that most people would switch to? The stock ones seem to work real well. Just wanted to go for a different look.

I dont see a problem with the first combo. But you will also need foams to go in between the tire and rim. These will work

Get Proline tires, as I said before TRX tires will only fit TRX wheels. And Proline's Mashers are probably more durable.:nod:

Thanks for the help guys. Any thoughts on mashers vs badlands? I'm mostly dirt, mud, and grass.

Also, are there any good reason to switch to 17mm? Hate to buy new wheels and then decide I want to switch to 17mm later.

The badlands are the best tire for bashing IMO. They are also very nice on pavement. I would highly recommend them.

Unless you're having probs stripping 14mm, no, there's not a good reason to switch to 17mm.
