Default Another LST2 conversion in the works

Here is my conversion. I made the mount out of 3/8 "L" channel stock that I picked up at the local metal mart. It mounts to the stock motor mount holes on the chassis. I wanted to be able to use smaller pinions because I'm using 5 cell packs and I'm looking for maximum run time. I also dont want it to be insane in the power department. I want it to have usable power, not do standing back flips. The Tekin system uses a 1700KV motor. I cut the 2 front fuel tank posts to allow the alluminum plate that the battery sits on to be screwed in to place. The LiPo is held in place with a single strap and velco under neath. This is the same way they lay in my 8E with no problems. The ESC will mount over a plate that I made and attaches to the chassis the same way the reverse servo did. The ESC will mount with velco as well to absorb some of the impact. I'm goint to be using mechanical breaks and I need to get a servo "Y" adapter.

The only thing I'm waiting for to run it is for Tekin to send me out a new board for the RX8 ESC. I also have a MMM 2200 system coming in shortly that I will use if the Tekin board takes a while to get to me.....I cant waite to run this thing!!!

Thanks guys. I'm dying to run it and get some video. My MMM 2200 combo should be here tomorrow from Tower. I'm expecting the new board for the Tekin ESC to be here by this weeks end as well. Worse case I'll run the MMM ESC with this motor.

TD's single speed hub is a great piece for these conversion. I tried t with the teal head 427 and it bogged to much at the low end. But thats not what its intended for .

Here she is all done!! It rips really good too. Wheelies are controllable but still have to be easy on the trigger. Motor got to 98* with a good beating this morning. Spped is probably 30-35 conservatively. I need to get a 20T pinion for when I swap to smaller tires for the track.
Need to paint the new Escalade EXT body i have had lying around now that I dont need cooling holes \/

Thanks guys. I ripped the body to shreds yesterday wheeling it and tumbelling it during acceleration down the streer. Thsi thig has so much torque, I cant beleive it. I bashed it for a pack, hard, yesterday and the motor got up to 109*.

I bought 3 feet of that L channel so if any ones needs a piece I'm willing to sell enough for 2 mounts(4 inches) for a few $ plus $5 for priority shipping.

For a couple bucks more you should just cut a few more of these up for all the people who need mounts right now. It seems this platform is becoming more popular now that all us are showing off our brushless rides but the dude doesnt have his super duper mount in stock right now. Cut a few up and make a decent price and help kill some time between pack charges!

I can do 1, 2" piece enough for 1 mount, for $12 shipped priority mail to any where in the lower 48. No need for me to try and get rich off of a chunk of alliminun. I just want to see more electric LST based trucks out there beating the snot out of the rest of the electric MTs

haha. I didnt mean try and turn a profit on them, but its a nice cheap alternative to the 70 dollar dude mount, although I do really LOVE my mount. It works awesome. Id like to see some more electric LSTs as well. I have an aftershock coming in that Im going to move my alloy shocks and brushless setup over too, then Ill be selling my lst1 with a brand new nitro motor in it to hopefully fund an lst2 or a xxl. I think the xxl would be awesome with some more power!

Threw it off the skae ramp for 20 minutes yesterday and when I threw tha battery on the charger it took back 3100MAH. I think getting close to 30 minutes might be possible with the 1700KV motor.

I'm going to order 3, 6S lipos next month from Hobbycity. I'll leave the 5S for my 8E. 6S should get me enough RPM to back flip it with the 16T pinion.
