Jeez. Makes me wanna try to get my hands on one of those tekin systems and then I could just move my 2200 combo over to my hyper 7 project which will be coming in soon.
I really need to find a better battery mounting solution. My home made on only snugly fits my 4s packs and I really wanna give my 6s pack a shot and see how I like it. I figure if I go to 6s and adjust the gearing I can get better run times and a cooler running system. On a side note, I picked up a practically brand new aftershock from Urjustamemory and I moved my whole brushless setup over to it since the lst1 I had was pretty beat up from the previous owner. Ill shoot some pics before I get it dirty and then you can get a look at what I did. |
the tekin motor is defenitly the way to to for this truck. I don't like it my buggy though. I can't Waite until I get a few 6S packs for it.
Defenitly get some pics of your truck. You just teased us with your current one and never showed us any Picts. |
Gotta find a good deal on one of the tekin systems and then maybe I'll try it out. Pics are up of my conversion in my thread.

I joined the Tower Super Savers Club and get coupons for up to $60 off every month, so my Tekin system was only $269 shipped:sneaky:. My MMM 2200 system was $245 shipped:batman:

Went to the track last nite and the 2200 Castle motor was too fast for my buggy on 5S so after I got home, I swapped it in to the LST2 and put the 1700KV back in the buggy. I have to admit that I dont like the 2200 motor in the LST2. It lacks torque even on 5S with a 16T pinion. It also takes a while to spool up and get to top speed. Speed is more like the 427 nitro motor though. Hopefully it will have enough speed now to clear the big double at the track because it dodnt have it with the 1700 motor. I'll test that out on Thursday.
I'm going to order the Novak 3 pinion pack with an 18,19, and 20T pinions and play with gearing a bit more. |
Let me know what the gearing does for you. Right now im 23/66 and I lack torque as well. I mean its there but not monstrous like I would like. Man I wish I lived more up your way so I could go play at the track.
|
Well, I just ran 2 packs through it and its grown on me:nod:. I can get it do a back flip from 10 feet in front of the ramp and it clears 20 feet in length on the jump easily. This setup will be awsome at the track. I dont like to run tryggy wheels on the LST2. I prefer running the stock tires or I might get some muggy tires.
Just make a day to come up here and we can hit the track on the weekend. They open Sundays too. I know your schedule is a bit hectic but you wont be dissapointed if you find time:sneaky: |
The track have a website with a schedule on it? My days off work are Wed, Thurs, Fri but two of those days I have school in the morning. Hmmm have to figure out when I can make a trip. Gotta get a few more packs too. Think Im gonna order two 5s packs that way I have:
2-4s 5000 2-5s 5000 1-6s 5000 That should give me plenty of time. I like to run the big tires as well. My lst1 had small badlands on it and it didnt give me quite enough monster truck feel so Im glad my Aftershock is set up the way it is now. Ima charge the packs now and go get a test run on the truck. Found a brand new carbon fiber buggy wing in the closet so I put that on instead of the black plastic one. |
Im glad that its seeing the use out of it that it never saw with me. I too like the look of big tires on a monster truck, nothing looks worse than an 8th scale truck with small tires on it.
|
Yea I had 10th scale badlands on my lst1 with a dodge ramcharger body designed for the emaxx. Managed to make the body fit with some proline extended body mounts. It was cool but it didnt look like a monster truck. Im much happier with the stock look of the aftershock. Will see how happy I am once its all dirty! haha. Man Im scared Ill never ever see it look this way again.

For a two tone paintjob that things looks absolutely awesome. I like that body too. What other bodies are available for these big ol trucks?
|
Here is what proline makes for these trucks. Just make sure any body you get is "long".http://www.prolineracing.com/catalog...ST2-121-1.html

The chevy c-10 longbed is sweet. Think that would fit ok?
