My friend recently gave me a os .18 cv r engine for my tmaxx 2.5r. My old engine was worn out and I wanted to use this one since it was free. I think this engine may be an older model since it has the rear exhaust outlet. So far I have got a new rear manifold and also an Pilot shaft since the crankshaft was to short. Could anyone help me on the clutch setup and anything else I may need to do to get this thing going.

Should be able to use stock clutch. This guy covers it pretty well -

Thanks, That was lined out pretty good, I had a general idea what I needed to do but was not totally sure. In your opinon is this a good engine for a t maxx. I wasn't really sure, but u can't beat free for a brand new engine.

As long as you have a dremel, its not that big of a deal. You won't get clutch spaced out right unless you cut the crank.
the OS18CV-R a great engine for a Tmaxx!! It will be worth the trouble. Its more powerful than the 2.5 and holds a tune much better and the price was pretty good!!
